By Kara Estes must be strangely exciting to watch the stoic squirm She looked out and it was beautifull. The sand was almost untouched. It reminded her of back home before the new team came and started new games outside on the beach. She could feel that they were going to spend a long time here. "I take it you own this part of the beach," she said in awe. It had been a while since mother natured had surprized her. "Its beautifull." " It's my family's beach. Been in the family all the way back to when Spanish exsplorers arrived." Chase said with pride. He then jumped out of the car, took off his polo shirt and his khaki shorts and ran into the ocean, only to be knocked down by a crashing wave. That site made Jessie laugh. It had reminded her of all the times Jonny tried to be a show off and have his plans backfire on him. " Come on get in. The waters nice," said a faraway voice from the ocean. "Okay give me a second," she screamed back as she sliped her green tank top and her drawstring jean shorts off. She then took off her socer slides and sat them on the sand. Then took off her sunglasses and hat and layed them down on the dash borad. She brushed back her hair. She could feel the creses left from her hat; she then steped out to were Chase could see her. He looked her up in down his jaw droped. She's beautifull, he thought. His eyes lead him up and down her dark green and blue two peice swimsuit. It was the kind that had the sports bra for the top, and the swim trunks for shorts. It accented her features beautifully. She then smiled at him and ran towards the water and jumped in. They played around for a while and then left. "So, where do I drop you off at?" Chase asked. Jessie just sat there and thought. Do I risk having him meet Mom and Dad by droping me off at the condo, or do I pray to God that Mom and Dad havn't left the race track and have him drop me off there. The decisions weighed down her thoughts. She couldn't decide which risk was greater. So she closed her eyes and spoke out the first one the came to her mind. "How about the condo, is that okay?" she said. "Sounds great, you'll just have to give me directions." he said. She could feel it was going to be a long ride home. She gave him the directions and prayed to God he wouldn't want to come in, or Dad or Mom wouldn't see him. She would know what they would say if they did see him. It would be along the lines of, be carrifull of your choices and think about the people you might be hurting along the way. Gosh, I'm sounding more and more like Hadj, she thought. It took them around 20 minutes to arive there. She sat there in his car and looked out the window. No sign of Mom or Dad in the area. It's safe she thought. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow at practices and training. I've had a fun time Jessie, and I hope to see you again, maybe tomorrow?" Chase asked. "Maybe. Thanks for taking me. It was fun! See ya," she said in a hurry. She was hoping that she could get in the house before he decided he wanted to walk her up to the door. She grabed her bag and hurriedly scurried up the walk-way and opened the door. Home free, she thought. "Jessie, is that you?" cried out her mother. She could hear her moms spainish accent through her English. They must have been worried about me, she thought, moms accent doesn't come out unless she's mad, nervious or worried. "Yeah its me," she cried out. She walked over to the kitchen where she found her trying to cook, she also saw her dad on the phone. "Sorry I'm so late," she replied. "I kinda lost track of time." she said, hoping that it would drop the subject of the beach. "It's okay. Your Uncle would like for you to come down to the track right after diner and practice a little before dark." Estella said. "kay." "Hey Ponchita, phone for you." cried out Race as he held out the phone. "Phone? For me?" she said tensly. Her conscience kept telling her that it was probably Chase and that your doomed for it. "I'll get it in the game room," she said hurriedly. How could he have got our number. Why is he calling me. Im doomed, she thought as she reached the bottom of the stair case. She then picked up the phone, covered the reciever and yelled, "GOT IT!" "Hello," she said. " Hey girl, hows Florida?" asked a formilure voice on the other line. "Bryce, hey. Florida is wonderfull. Its about the same as Palm Key, only more crowded." She said with excitment. "I wish you were here." she said with less excitment. "Well your going to get your wish, we coming down to stay for a while. We heard your racing and decided to come and watch. How does that sound?" he said. "GREAT! But Im guessing you mean by we as in the "whole team"?" she asked. "Yup, we've rented out the condo next door." "Cool. I can't wait to see you all! I've missed you all." she said holding her tounge. She felt guilty lieing to the person she cared about. "I've missed you too." he said. "Well gatta go eat. I'll see you guys tomorrow. When are you guys coming?" "Oh around 8 in the morning. See ya then." he said and hung up. Jessie then put the phone back in its cradle and sat there on one of the bar stoles. Anxiety hit her, and hit her hard. Tomorrow, she thought, tomorrow is when Chase wanted to go out again, tomorrow is when Bryce is coming in, tomorrow is the end of the world as we know it. The rest of the evening seemed like a blur to Jessie. She finished diner and took her fathers sports car out to the raceway. There she practiced for a while and learned some of the basic manuvers. She was getting the hang of it and liking it. She realy liked the part when her uncle was telling her to speed up. Instid of her fathers cries of slow down! It was getting dark so the called it quites and she came home. When she got there, she went downstairs to the game room and fliped on the big screan tv that was down there. She then layed down on the couch watching Kiki's Delivery Service. It was one of her favoret Americanized animes. Classic, she thought. Then a voice awakened her from her day dreamings. "Hey Ponchita, wanna shot a few rounds with me?" "Sure Dad, your on!" she said. It was damp outside. Damp enough you could feel the moisture in your hair. A tall, taned man, who looked younger than 21, step out of the shadows and into the frount step of a dark ally. He banged twice on the metal door and waited for the peep hole to open. When it did, he said,"QT108," and waited for the door to be opened. When it was he steped in, and walked over to another door and opened it quickly, and shut it. "So got anything?"said a stale bitter voice from the shaddows. "Yeah, were she's staying and she's also racing. So we have the perfect chance then to get her,"said the teen. "Excelent! I want more fallow ups tomorrow. Untill then keep it going." The teen then left in the same manor her came. When he reached the metal doorway he opened it and slamed it shut. "Jessica Bannon will never know whats coming her way," said the teen as he walked out back into the darkness. Comments are also taken? Please help the starving writters and give them a comment!
