Jessie asked while taking t= he invitation out of Jonny's hands. =09"It seems that our dear friend Ferand has decided to have a little get together for everyone in the hotel," Jonny supplied. He flopped on his bac= k onto the bed. =09"That's kind of strange don't you think?" Jessie asked while sitting in= a chair. "I mean, first the man tries to kill me and then he invites me to = a party?" =09"I guess he's going on a huge guilt trip. Psychos tend to do that often= ." =09"Hardy, har, har." =09Jessie looked at the invitation once again. The party was going to be = in three days. It said the attire was formal. It looked like the party was meant to be not only for his associates but for the entire hotel. =09"He's got to be planning to do something at this party. I mean, why wo= uld he invite us?" Jonny inquired. Jessie shrugged. "I guess he's going to try to go after me again." =09"And you think he's not going to go after me?" Jonny asked a little defensively. =09Jessie shook her head in amusement. "You're telling me that you want h= im to go after you?" =09"I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that he might go after me too. = I mean we are partners. Why go after one without the other?" =09"Maybe," Jessie said while taking off her fake glasses. "I still think= that you're jealous that he didn't go after you too." =09"Yeah, sure. You can believe that if you want." Jonny looked at the c= lock beside the bed. "It's still morning. I think that we should..." Jonny was= cut off by the ring of the telephone. =09"Expecting any phone calls?" Jessie asked. =09"Nope," replied Jonny. He watched as Jessie picked up the phone neares= t her. =09"Hello?" Jessie spoke into the phone. There was a slight pause while = the person on the other end spoke. "Yes, Jonathan Quest is in this room." Th= ere was another round of silence. "Excuse me?!? Look, Valerie. Don't think t= hat you can..." Jessie was cut off when Jonny jumped from his bed and took the phone from her. =09"Hello, Valerie?" Jonny spoke into the phone, ignoring a fierce glare = from Jessie. =09"Jonathan," Valerie said from the other end of the line. "Who exactly = was that woman who just answered the phone, and why is she in your hotel room?= " =09Jonny gave a nervous look over to Jessie who was still fuming. "She's = the maid." =09Jessie was about to yell at Jonny when he held up a finger for her to b= e quiet. =09"Your maid huh? I'm not sure that I believe you," Valerie said, with a = little bit of anger. =09"Honey, I'm telling you the truth." =09The other line was quiet for a while until Felecia spoke up. "You know= how I worry Jonathan. I keep on worrying that you'll find some other girl and forget all about me." =09"I wouldn't forget you Valerie. You're the only one for me. You know t= hat." =09At that line Jessie let out a laugh. Jonny glared at her and motioned f= or her to be quiet. =09"I know, I know. That's what you say. The other girls don't know that,= " Valerie commented quietly. =09"If they don't know, I'll make sure they'll find out," Jonny replied. H= e had gotten good at this sort of thing. Years of experience had helped him thr= ough the times. =09Jessie faked gagging by clutching her throat and coughing. Jonny ignor= ed her and turned his attention back to the phone. "How did you know that I was = back in St. Louis?" Jonny asked. =09"A girlfriend who works at the hotel told me. I was waiting for you to= call me but I decided that you would be so busy that you might never have time = to. So, I decided to contact you instead." =09"So what have you been up to lately? I heard that you were going to Pa= ris last time I saw you, but it seems like you're back in the states." =09"I did the show already. It happened that I didn't have to stay as lon= g as I thought I would. Paris was really wonderful," Valerie told him wistfully. "You should have come with me." =09"I know I should have, but you know I can't with my job and all. I don= 't know what part of the globe I'm going to be in from one minute to the next= ," Jonny reminded her. =09Valerie let out a sigh. "I know I know. The life of a business tycoon a= nd all of that. I still think that you should have called me." =09Jessie was watching the whole episode the chair. Her face set with an = amused expression, shaking her head occasionally. =09"I know I should have. I'm really sorry that I didn't." Jonny paused = for a moment. "I'll tell you what Valerie. Let's get together later on today. I have a few errands that I need to run, then we can go out for dinner." =09Felecia pondered for a moment. "I guess that would be all right." =09"Good." Jonny looked over at Jessie with a look of triumph and then tur= ned back to the phone. "Do you mind if a friend of mine tags along?" =09"A friend of yours? Why?" =09"Well, I kinda promised my friend that we would run our errands togethe= r. I can't really call back and cancel now." =09"If that's the case, it's o.k. if he tags along. Is he going to dinner= with us?" =09"Oh no, of course he isn't," Jonny answered with a worried expression. = He looked over a Jessie who had lost interest in the conversation and was typ= ing on her laptop. =09"O.k. Well, I'll see you at two then. It will give you time to get rea= dy and everything. Love you," Valerie closed. =09"Love you too," Jonny answered back and hung up the phone. =09"Aren't we Mr. Casanova today?" Jessie asked when she heard the phone = being placed back. "What is this? Girl number fifty-three?" =09Jonny decided to ignore the walked over to the side of the bed, grabbin= g his duffelbag. =93We better get going before we have to meet Valerie.=94 =09=93Get going where?=94 Jessie inquired. She snapped her laptop close a= nd set it on top of the dresser. =09=93We need to find a guest list so we can cross reference who's going t= o the party with who the ISO thinks is in on the transactions.=94 =09=93And how do you figure that we=92re going to be able to take the gues= t list from the concierge?=94 Jessie put on a sweet smile. =93Excuse me sir, cou= ld I please have the guest list and seating arrangements for Mr. Jiles=92s part= y? I just need to know which plate to poison.=94 =09=93Oh ye of little faith,=94 Jonny stated. =93I=92ll have you know tha= t I have a plan.=94 =09=93And that is?=94 Jessie asked. =09Jonny explained the plan to her and waited for her answer. =09=93There=92s no WAY I am doing that!=94 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =09Jessie tugged down on her front slitted black skirt and prepared to wal= k over to the concierge=92s desk. She shot one more death glare at Jonny. =93I = am going to get you back for this,=94 she promised him. =09=93Sure, sure,=94 he replied, not really believing her words. =93The s= ooner you do this, the sooner you'll be done.=94 =09=93That=92s easy for you to say. You=92re not the one in 3 inch heels.= =94 =09=93He=92s coming back now,=94 Jonny spoke as he spied the 30 something = male making his way through the lobby. =09Jessie ran her hand through her hair and sighed. =93Pride exit stage l= eft. Let's just get this over with.=94 She made her way over to the desk. Smi= ling at the concierge she waited for him to greet her. =09=93Good afternoon miss. Can I help you?=94 the man said with a smile.= =09=93Yes, you could,=94 Jessie said while sitting down and crossing her l= egs. She tried not to pay attention that by doing so, the slit of her skirt expande= d and showed a great amount of her toned legs. =91That=92s what you get whe= n a guy picks out you wardrobe,=92 Jessie thought to herself, although how exactly= Jonny had the clothes she needed in her size and ready for this occasion was bey= ond her. =93 I need to request a guest list.=94 =09=93For your party?=94 the man asked and then went on without an answer.= =93What is your name?=94 =09=93Actually, it=92s not my party I need the guest list for...=94 Jessie= started to say and then trailed off when she saw exactly where the man was looking. H= e noticed her gaze and focused his eyes up at her, an embarrassed look on hi= s face. He cleared his throat and continued. =09=93If it=92s not your party, whose is it?=94 =09=93It=92s a party for my friend Dr. Jiles. Perhaps you know him?=94 =09The concierge again willed his eyes to look back at her face and nodded= . =93Dr. Jiles is a well known guest at this hotel.=94 =09=93He=92s throwing a party soon and I need to know who=92s coming and w= here everyone is sitting so that I can plan the events of the party,=94 Jessie= said while favoring the concierge with another smile. =09=93What=92s your name again Miss?=94 the concierge asked. =09=93Julia Nerman,=94 Jessie supplied. She watched as the concierge took= out a stapled packet of papers and looked it over. =09=93It doesn=92t show here that you are the party coordinator. I=92m so= rry but I cannot give you these papers.=94 =09Jessie leaned towards the desk and propped her elbows up on it. The v- neckline of her shirt traveled farther down her front. She was satisfied = when the man gulped softly. =93I really need them. I cannot pull off Dr. Jile= s=92s party without them.=94 =09=93I=92m sorry, but I cannot...=94 the concierge started put was cut of= f by Jessie=92s pleading green eyes. =09=93It would be a really big help,=94 Jessie said, slowly drawing out th= e words. =09The concierge succumbed to Jessie=92s attempts and handed her the paper= s. =93O.k. Miss Nerman, but I had nothing to do with this.=94 =09=93Do with what?=94 Jessie inquired with a wink. The concierge smiled= in return. =93Thank you for your help.=94 =09Jessie stood up from her chair and started to turn away when she was st= opped by a hand on her wrist. She turned to face the man. =93Perhaps we can ha= ve dinner sometime?=94 =09Jessie forced herself to smile, not believing that she was letting hers= elf do this to her self-respect. =93Perhaps.=94 =09The concierge removed his hand from her wrist. =93Have a nice day.=94 =09=93You too,=94 Jessie closed and headed across the lobby. She entered = where the bank of elevators were to find Jonny waiting for her. =93I truly hope you= are satisfied,=94 she said while forcefully handing him the papers. =09=93I am thank you,=94 confirmed while looking over the papers. He then = looked Jessie over. =93And it=92s not only because of the papers,=94 he teased. =09Jessie glared at Jonny with a look that could have melted ice. =93I kn= ew there was some kind of ulterior motive to this plan.=94 An idea suddenly popped= into her head. Looking at her watch, she smiled. =93Don=92t we have to meet V= alerie in fifteen minutes?=94 =09Jonny looked at his watch and groaned. =93You=92re right. Hurry up an= d go change in the room. You have five minutes.=94 He then proceeded to push = the up button for the elevators. =09=93Oh, I=92m not changing,=94 Jessie said, enjoying the look of shock = that went across his face. =09=93What do you mean you=92re not changing? You can=92t go meet Valerie = in that,=94 Jonny argued. =09=93You=92re the one that gave me this outfit so the least I can do is w= ear it all day.=94 =09Jonny looked at Jessie from the tight light blue material of her half- buttoned shirt to the high slit of her black skirt. Valerie would have be= en mad at him for bringing a woman instead of a man but would have went along with it. A woman looking like Jessie did at the moment, he wasn=92t too s= ure of. Then it dawned on him that it was exactly what Jessie wanted. =09=93Jessie, I know what you=92re trying to do and it won=92t work so ple= ase go change,=94 Jonny tried again. =09Jessie smiled and started to walk towards the entrance of the hotel to = pick up the car. =93You don=92t know the half of it.=94 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =09=93Sir?=94 a short haired flight attendant questioned. =09=93Yes?=94 the man prompted, putting down the magazine he was reading. =09The flight attendant pointed to the back of the first class section. = =93You have a phone call.=94 =09The man raised an eyebrow but said nothing as he headed out towards the phone. =93Hello,=94 he greeted the unknown caller.=09=09=09 =09 =09=9389529 reporting sir,=94 a woman spoke from the other side of the ph= one. =09=93Go ahead,=94 the man confirmed. =09=93I have contacted the woman. She said that she had an appointment wi= th the target this afternoon. She mentioned that he was bringing a friend. I am concluding that it is his partner although he said that his friend was mal= e.=94 =09=93Good, good,=94 the doctor said while taking in the information. =93= Was there any problems with signing on our knew accomplice?=94 =09=93Only a little sir. She did not want to hurt the man she fell in lov= e with. The one million dollar payment persuaded her though.=94 The woman on the = end of the phone line chuckled. =93It=92s a funny thing how money can change lov= e.=94 =09=93Extremely,=94 the man answered, showing no emotion. An image flashe= d into his mind of his wife and himself eating and carrying on in a park. The image = was interrupted by other one of them fighting over a grant that he had receive= d. =09Noticing that the woman on the phone was waiting for a reply, he contin= ued. =93You have done very well. Make sure that everything goes according to p= lan. I don=92t want any problems this time. Got it?=94 =09=93Yes sir,=94 the woman replied. =93Signing out.=94 =09The man hung up the phone with a sigh. =91This better work.=92 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, that's about it. I hope you enjoyed it.
