I don't have their permission, but I'm not making money. So I see no reason to sue. I do have Peggy's permission to use her in the fic. And I also have "Mrs. Singh's" permission. I own Jimmy and Erik(previous part). Archivers: I would be so greatful! Greatful enough to finish this thing? I don't think so. But I'd still be greatful!!! Rating: I'm gonna go with PG-13 cause of somewhat violent language and the fact that Hadji lovers everywhere are probably gonna rip my throat out. Category: Future, ML, Alternate Universe, kinda Action, Hadji/A HR? *NOTES: I sent this part out for one reason and one reason ONLY! Peggy said it might cheer her up. But from this point on I WILL NOT send out anymore until I finish, I don't wanna trap myself in a corner. I'm not even too happy with this part, it's not well written and it's short. But like I said, Peggy needed cheering up. Happy Peggy-pie? Lesli and Nikita, please e-mail me. I lost your addy's and I MUST speak to you! 'Tis January 21st, 1999. Title: You're Still the One 2/? Series: My lips are zipped Episode: Uhhh Written by: Deziree Jessie's eye's flashed with anger. Only Peggy would have the audacity to try and ruin her wedding. Jessie and the others stole a glance at Hadji. The color had drained from his face. "You knew, didn't you Hadj?" asked Jonny. "I knew there was something wrong. But it's been so long since she..." Hadji trailed off. Jonny didn't say anything else, he knew it must be hard for Hadji. "Miss me Hadji-sama?" Peggy said, using her old name for him. Hadji cringed, there was a time when he loved hearing her say that name. Now, it made him sick. "Just tell us what the hell you want, Peggy," said Race, he was in no mood for games. It was his daughters wedding day for heaven's sake. The virtual video screen appeared with Peggy's face on it. Everyone glared at her. "I'm glad to see you guys, too. After being quiet for so long I thought you might've forgotten about me. I'm glad to see I've made such a...LASTING impression." "When someone we trust tries to kill us, it's kinda hard to forget," replied Jessie, her voice cool as ice. Peggy was quite amused by the reactions she was getting. She always liked to be the center of attention. And she definitely had the Quest Team's attention. And soon, she'd have the whole worlds. But now, it was time to think of her revenge. "In case you haven't noticed, you're on a direct course for the edge of the cliffs. So if you wanna catch me, you're gonna have to get out of that van. Good luck, mes amis." And with that, the video screen disappeared. "Mes amis my-" "Jonny, quit mumbling and help us figure out a way to get out of here!" Jessie was starting to get really on edge. Her day started out very badly and was progressively getting worse. The Quest Team set themselves to finding a way out of the van. Hadji and Benton worked on hacking into the van's security system and unlocking the doors. Race try to short circuit the locks control wiring. Jonny and Jessie looked for something that might allow them to dislodge one of the doors. They would just break the glass, but it was bullet proof. They were four miles from the cliffs, going at 20 mph and speeding up... "Damn it!" yelled Race. He couldn't unlock the doors. "How's it coming Benton?" "Not good. If we had some time, maybe we could hack into it. But we're less than 2 minutes from the cliffs." "Let me try, Dad." Jonny took his father's seat at the front and began typing furiously. He was mad. Peggy had already caused enough trouble, and now she was ruining what was supposed to be the most perfect day of his life. But since when had anything gone well for him? "Warning! You are approximately one minute from cliffs," said Iris. "Hurry, Jonny!" "I'm trying!" But Jonny was having trouble. Whatever Peggy did, she did it well. Too well. In the back of his mind, Jonny knew that Peggy wasn't the one responsible for the lock out. She didn't have this kind of expertise. She specialized in lies and torture. But Jonny was too busy trying to save their lives to let that thought thru. "45 seconds until the cliffs," came Iris' monotone voice. Jonny was breaking out in a sweat. He almost had it, but he wasn't sure if he would make it in time. But he always did his best work under pressure. "25 seconds." The only sounds were that of Jonny's typing and the warning noises. The Quest Team was deadly silent. "15 seconds." More typing. "10...9..." "Got it!" And with that, the door on the right slid open. Jessie went first. Followed by Hadji, Benton, Race and finally, Jonny. He jumped out just as the front tires reached the edge. The five of them just sat there in silence for a few moments. Race turned to Jonny. "And you say I cut it too close." *At the church* "I'm sorry Mrs. Singh. But there has been no word from your husband or the others." Mrs. Hadji Singh was not liking this one bit. She knew something was wrong, that she shouldn't have gone ahead of the rest. She had known the Quest's long enough to know that nothing ever went smoothly where they were concerned. She should've seen this coming. One of the usher's, Jimmy, approached her. "It never fails, does it?" "Nope. I just wish I knew who was behind it." "Maybe this will give us a clue." He handed her an envelope. She didn't bother to turn it over to read the name. Mrs. Singh just ripped the envelope open and read it while Jimmy waited with a look of concern. Her faced paled, she turned the envelope over and read the name. "Not her. Anyone but her," she whispered. "Who sent it?" Even though he had a pretty good guess. She handed Jimmy the letter and envelope. His face paled as well as he read the note. He had hoped he was wrong when he saw the envelope, but the letter proved his suspicion. Looking at her, he realized she was close to tears. Dropping the letter and envelope, he pulled her into a hug. He, as well as she, knew that this was serious. One clue was the letter itself. The other, was the name written on the envelope. Lissette. Only one person called her by her middle name and Mrs. Singh feared her more than anyone. And so, Ava cried. comments, flames, buildings, textbooks and other paraphernalia can be sent to dbneher@gte.net ******************************************************************** * The Jonny Quest mailinglist jq@edc.ml.org * ******************************************************************** * To unsubscribe, send an e-mail to: majordomo@edc.ml.org * * with the message: unsubscribe jq subject is ignored * ********************************************************************
