4) Magic and multiple otherworldly miracles.

...And the number 1 reason why Jonny's still alive today is...

1) Because all the villians HAVE to use overly complicated plans that will 
never work.
(If you'll notice, they never just shoot them. They have to use things like 
nerve gas and rocketships.)
