Authors note: This really doesn't have the Quest Team in it until the
end, but they ARE involved, as in.. all these REAL people staying in the
Quest compound for the summer until the Quests get back. That COUNTS
doesn't it?

O.K were all set. . . 


Puck Dearest walked up to the large doors of what was the Quest Compound.
Her blue velvet bag and her rough Mexico bag were slung over her
shoulders.
She knocked on the huge oakwood doors. when no one answered she took the
large set of keys from her pocket and unlocked the door. After she roamed
through the house a little she started up the long winding stairs. She
passed room after room until she reached Jessie's. She opened the door,
and
threw her bags on the huge waterbed. She went to the window and just as
she
was about to open them, the door whipped open and a boy with dark red
hair
and a long thin costume sword jumped inside, she screeched with surprise
and jumped back onto the bed. 
  "Who are you and what are you doing here?" 
he said staring deep into her dark blue eyes with his clear hazel ones. 
  "I got
a call from the Quests, they told me to come and look after the compound
while they were away,the gave me the keys, come ON!"
 she said disgusted. the boy dropped the sword, a little. 
  "what's your name?" 
he said smoothly.
"Puck Dearest, give me a break Zorro, I came to look after the house!" 
He
dropped the blade all the way and stared at her with his dark eyes. "My
name is Oberon Fey, you must be the other one they sent to take care of
the compound." He offered his hand. She stared at it for a moment before
taking it and shaking. He pulled her off the bed and said "I've got
Jonny's
room, it's next door. I ordered pizza, so dinner's on the way." She
followed him down the staircase and into the kitchen. "So, why did the
Quests pick you?" She asked him raiding the fridge. "Oh, I was one of
Jonny's close friends on-line. Why did they pick you" He asked back as
she
stuffed a piece of cheese into her mouth. "I was one of Jessie and
Hadji's
friends, on-line. What was your server?" she asked biting off a piece.
"AOL. Yours?" She stared at him. "Mine too. What was your screename?" she
said sitting down and turning sideways. "Cash114. Yours?" She stared at
him

for a minute and said, "Not the same Cash114 that helped me blow up a
blue
pool toy in the JQHR?" He looked at her and uttered the six words that
had
damned them all. "Death to the blue pool toy!" She said "Me,
MistressPuck!
CASH!!!" she screeched and hugged him fiercely. "MD! God, I didn't know!
oh
my god. ." He nearly fell out of his chair laughing. Suddenly their
laughter was ceased by a constant pounding on the front door. They looked
at each other before getting up and almost tripping over each other to
get
to the door. They looked through the peephole and saw three people
standing
at the door, their bags in hand. One was a tall girl with glasses and a
heart mood necklace, blue green eyes and shortish brown hair. The other
girl had reddish brown hair and green eyes. The other was a boy about
thirteen with a Leonardo DiCaprio style haircut and hazel eyes. Puck
recognized the first girl. She yanked open the door and yelled
"Christa!!!"
The girl looked at her and yelled "Puck!" and they hugged. The two others
followed in behind Christa and Puck. After they had all gotten into
rooms,
they sat at the table. "Hi my name is Puck, some of you might know me as
MistressPuck. but I'm 14 and live in Daleville Alabama." Puck said then
pointed to Christa. "Hi my name is Christa Trenkler and I live in
Daleville
Alabama too. I'm Puck's best friend." and she pointed to the girl with
reddish brown hair. "Hi my names Jessie DiLeo and I live in Grand prairie
Texas." The she pointed to the other guy. "Hi my names Matt Kilgore but
I'm
also known as James Bond. I live in Traverse City Michigan." and he
pointed
to Oberon. "Hey, my names Oberon Fey but you also know me as Cash114. I
live in Montgomery Alabama." Puck piped up. "You live in MY state? Oh my
God, and I never even-" She didn't get to finish her statement. another
bang on the front door. Puck jumped up and ran. She opened the door and
one
of the three figures that stood there made tears form in her eyes.
"ERIN!"
she screamed and threw her arms around the tall brown haired Blue eyed
girls neck. "Puck!" she screamed right back. "God Erin, I miss you so
much!" The two exchanged a tearful greeting before Puck said, "well come
on
in everyone, this place is ours for three whole months." The other two
girls stood up and one said "My names Leilani Legh but everyone calls me
Bab. I live in Arlington Texas. Near Jes." the other girl stood up and
flashed her mouth, gleaming metal braces. "My names Sarita Fager but
everyone calls me Sari and I live in  Arvada Colorado." Then she sat down
her curly red hair bouncing at her shoulders. Then Erin stood up. "Hi my
names Erin Fitzpatrick and I live in Evans Georgia. I went to School with
Puck in the third grade and we've been best friends ever since." And she
smiled at Puck. Just then, another ominous knock sounded from the front
of
the Compound. "Damnit how many are there?" Puck cursed as she ran to the
door. "Come on in and introduce yourselves." Puck said grinning.  The two
girls ran into the living room excited as could be. The first had long
Blonde hair and sea blue eyes. "Hi I'm Loren Cruise and I live in Texas
also. My screename is Lion965." she said bouncing up and down. The second
girl got up and looked at Sari. "My name is Jennifer but everyone I know
calls me Raps. I live in Colorado too." She had a slightly dangerous air
about her. "Erin,Leilani,Sari,Raps,Jes,Loren and Christa come with me,
I'll
get you all rooms. They all grabbed their bags and followed in behind
Puck.
Oberon and Matt stared up after them. 
  Sari dumped her bags on Race's bed. "MINE!" She growled. Puck shrugged
and went on down the hall. "Erin, Christa, you guys can double in my
room,
we can bring two more beds in here. Loren, you can grab Hadji's room, And
Raps and Jes, you guys can grab the sunroom. It's bigger than these
rooms,
and it's got two bathrooms, mine has three. Okay Erin, Christa, lets go
bed
hunting." and she took her two best friends arms and led them to the
spare
bedrooms. "Ohhh got this one!" Christa said spying one that was fairly
large and had purple sheets. They all three dragged it out the door, down
the hall, and into Jessie's room. Then the went in search of Erin's bed.
She looked around before deciding that she liked the medium sized bed
with
blue sheets. They dragged that one down there too and set the beds up so
they were al facing in towards Puck's. Matt was downstairs fixing up the
couch. Oberon took his black bag and walked upstairs to his room. He
could
hear the girl is the next room as they all got aquainted. he could hear
Puck, her voice rang out as clear as a whistle on a clear day; "Yeah
well,
I've never met a guy by him thrusting a sword in my face. I thought I was
gonna die of laughter if I didn't let it out. But he IS cute, you have to
admit, there is a deep dark sensuality to him." The rest was lost in a
jumble of female voices. he smiled to himself and laid back on the bed.
The
ceiling converged into a dark tunnel and he fell into sleep.

 Bab and Jes tore through their luggage. "I wonder where I put her. ."
Jes
muttered as she lifted a bright blue silver bag. "Found her!" Bab cried.
Jes lumbered over on her hands and knees and said "Which one?" Bab looked
through the bars and said "Mine. I think yours is under Raps' bag." she
pointed to a heap of dark blue bags.  Jes wandered over and picked up on
of
the bags. an unmistakable 'mrow!' came from the big blue box. "Lynxie!"
She
said and lifted the carrier out. Bab had already taken her bright white
cat
out and cuddled it. Bab put the cat down and walked into the next room
where Puck, Erin, and Christa were sitting  on one of the beds and
reminiscing. "Um, Puck, you didn't pick me a room." Puck's hands flew to
her mouth and she said "well c'mon we'll just have to find you one." she
chirped and took Bab's small hand and took off down the hall. "How 'bout
this one?" Puck said pointing to one of the eloquent guest rooms. Bab
shook
her head. "what about the room right in front of yours?" Bab suggested
shaking her blonde hair. The girl's Tweety Bird and Sylvester shirt and
Calvin Klein jeans went perfectly together. Puck's Unionbay fringed
wide-leg jeans and faded Nike's looked raggy but comfortable. The black
T-shirt she wore  highlighted her frosty blonde hair and dark blue eyes.
She turned a corner too fast and bumped straight into Oberon. She
recovered
immediately. "God, sorry. Wasn't looking where I was going." He looked at
her with amusement and said "No,it's okay, I was going downstairs to fix
this mongrel bunch dinner." Puck's eyes lit up. "Cook?! I can cook! I
wanna
help!" He looked at her as she pleaded and he said, "You ever burn
anything?" She shook her head honestly. "Your hired." He quirked as he
disappeared behind the stairwell. Bab shrugged and said "I'm gonna go up
into the room, I'll see you down stairs in a while." Puck nodded.  She
walked down the hall and into her room. Erin and Christa were still
sitting
down on the bed. Puck came flying down on the bed and laid back. Christa
cocked an eyebrow and said "What's wrong with you?" Puck sat up and
looked
at them. Erin's long brown hair almost reached the middle of her back and
her bluish-green eyes shone brightly. Her green and blue jumpsuit  stood
out on the yellow comforter.  Christa had brown hair, to her shoulders
and
hazel eyes. Her heart mood necklace lay against the green Tigger shirt
and
her old gray Levi's went with her Filas. Puck looked behind her and saw
the
big box. She gasped and ran to her bag. She tore open the clasp and
wrenched out a CD and popped it into the box. "This is exactly how I
feel."
She said before a song came blasting from the speakers. It was Madonna's
Frozen. Both Erin and Christa knew what this song meant. She had a crush
but wouldn't tell who. Suddenly she bounced off the bed and started
belting
out the lyrics as loud as she could. Before long, Bab, Raps, Sari,Jes and
Loren were inside the room as Puck continued singing along perfectly. All
of a sudden the music stopped. Puck turned beet red and turned to the
door.
There stood Oberon, with biscuit dough in his hands, just rolling it
between
his hands. he reached out and took her hand and put the dough in it. "I
thought you were gonna help." She blushed to the roots of her hair and
said
"Yeah I just had to sing a song. He nodded and said "Yeah well as
beautiful
as that was, I would love it more if you sang in the kitchen." She nodded
and, still blushing, walked down the hall and downstairs.
  Sari didn't bother unpacking yet. "Hey Raps, now that I am in THE most
handsomest man alives room, and am gonna stay here for three whole
months,
what should I do?" She said running one of Race's combs through her long,
curly red hair. Her striped shirt was tucked into her favorite black
jeans
and her white Reeboks were halfway off the floor as she balanced on the
edge of the dresser. Raps tossed her dark hair behind her and looked
around
the spacious room with hazel-blue eyes. She glanced down at her brown
t-shirt and Levis wide-leg jean covering her old Nike tennies."I'm
getting
bored, I'm gonna go see if Jes and Loren wanna explore the rest of the
compound. You coming?" Sari sighed at the big bed and said "Sure Raps,
let's go." Smiling, they walked down The hallway and into the sunroom.
Jes
was unpacking, her long reddish brown hair falling over one blue-shirted
shoulder. Her Faded Glory jeans over bare feet brushed the thick blue
carpet. "Hey Jes, me and Raps wanted to know if you wanted to explore the
compound with us." Jes thought and with a look of totally boredom said
"Sure, what else is there to do?" Raps giggled and led the way.
  Matt walked into the kitchen raking his sandy blond hair back and
rolling
his green eyes toward the ceiling and opened the fridge, when a more
enticing smell cam from the kitchen area. Hot bread coming out of the
oven.
. . He walked in and was hit in the face by a piece of flying bread
dough.
he peeled it from his face and looked at the guilty party. Oberon and
Puck
both were covered in flour and were throwing leftover dough at each
other.
A big pot of mashed potatoes was sitting on the stove along with a bowl
of
hot frenchbread and minute steak; with LOTS of gravy. He could smell
cinnamon and chocolate coming from inside the oven. Matt looked down at
the
two that were still locked in a wrestling  pose, with Oberon on top
leaning
over her with dough in his hands and Puck, who had dough in he hair and
on
her clothes. Matt put his hands on his gray jeaned hips and stamped one
Nike shoed foot and demanded, "What the hell is going on here?" Oberon
got up
and for a minute he couldn't speak because he had the laughing fit.
Puck's
shoulders were shaking with laughter and she took a deep  breath and she
said "We were cooking dinner and he put dough in my hair. So I came back
and started a dough fight. theres some dough in the gravy but don't tell
anyone." She managed to say. Oberon's black managere  consisted of
flour-stained black T-shirt and black jeans. Puck got up and promptly
insisted that she was going to take a shower. She walked out the door and
pretended to walk up the stairs. She pressed her ear to the wall and
listened in. "I know it but she's cute. And she doesn't mind that I'm a
crazy teen with fun on his mind." She heard Oberon say. Matt came back
"Yeah
well she's cute but I like Jes better, more my style." He said. She
smiled
and ran upstairs. When she had reached the top a hand came over her mouth
and she was dragged down the hall kicking and trying to escape. . . 

 Raps finally let go of Puck and she fell to the floor. "What was that
all
about?!" Puck demanded. Raps pointed to a large clear window. Puck could
see a large pool in it. "DAMN! They never told me they had a pool,
INDOORS!" Puck shrieked. "I don't think they told any of us, but, wanna
get
everyone together after dinner and see if it's heated; the hard way?"
Sari
said behind them. When Puck turned to say something Sari gasped. "What
did
you do to yourself?!" She said putting her hands on her hips. Puck
blushed.
"I got into a dough fight with Oberon downstairs, Matt found us." Sari
and
Raps giggled. "Puck you are a weird one." Raps concluded There was a
roaring right over the house and then a humongus THUMP outside. Puck,
Raps
and Sari all ran to the windows facing the front of the house. There was
a
tiny bi-plane with an even tinier person coming out. Christa and Erin
heard
the commotion and ran to the window. Christa recognized the bright pink
jacket. Allison! She thought. Christa flipped the lock and opened the
window and shouted; "Allison!!!" The girl with long dirty blonde hair and
crystal blue eyes turned around. "Christa!! Puck!!" She waved to a guy
inside the plane and handed him a roll of bills. She went around and
picked
up her luggage and walked towards the front of the house. 
  Oberon and Matt had just finished setting the table and were getting
the
food out and putting it on the table. "Oberon, you have to get that stuff
off
the shirt before you eat." Matt said staring at Oberon's flour covered
shirt.
"Yeah I guess so." Oberon replied running up the stairs. ON the way up he
heard an unfamiliar female voice. He walked back down the stairs and out
to
the lawn. He saw the Girl and a plane leaving. "Who's that? We have
ANOTHER
one?" He yelled. Puck looked off towards the rapidly fading sun and
yelled;
"Yeah! It's Allison Hedger, ANOTHER one of my friends. Set an extra
place!"
She grabbed Allison about the shoulder and led her into the compound and
upstairs. Oberon followed behind and went into his room to put on a new
shirt. 
  Puck, Allison, Christa, and Erin all traipsed down the hallway to find
Allison a bed. "I like the canopy bed." Allison said spying a cherry
sleigh
bed with a white silk canopy and Laura Ashley sheets. Erin and Christa
took
one end and Allison and Puck took the other and they all dragged/carried
the bed into Puck's room. Puck ran to her bags, grabbed her Polaroid
camera
and ran downstairs with Christa, Erin, Raps, Sari (Who had now proceeded
to
raid Race's drawers and was wearing one of his shirts and a pair of his
jeans rolled up and one of his belts)Jes, Bab, and Loren on her heels.
Oberon
and Matt were sitting in the den, Oberon trying to get a fire started in
the
fireplace. Puck walked over and turned the iron key and  bright orange
warm
flames drifted up from a gas burner. "Women. ." He mumbled as he got up.
Puck smirked after him and stuck out her tongue. "Naughty naughty." He
chimed. "Don't stick that out at me unless you want me to bite it off."
Puck smiled devilishly. "is that a threat or a promise?" Oberon said
nothing,
just got up and walked to the table. 
  After dinner was all said and done, Raps and Sari volunteered to do the
dishes. Puck ran upstairs to her room for a while. Matt and Jes decided
to
walk around the grounds. The hot May air hit Jes' skin and   Matt walked
a
little ahead. "Hey," Jes called after hi, "wait up!" He looked behind him
then slowed down. They walked past the gazebo and out to the cliff. They
didn't talk much but they could hear gales of laughter coming from Puck's
room. "She really is an outgoing person isn't she?" Matt asked. "Yeah,
she's where the action is. ." She said  half noticing her own voice.
Suddenly the wind picked up blowing her ponytail behind her and ruffling
Matt's hair. He was sort of tall, about her height. She couldn't help but
look at him, there was almost nothing else around. "We could do something
this summer you know, like build something." Jes scoffed. "Build what?"
She
asked. Matt shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe a small house or something."
He
suggested. "That's a cool idea but how are we gonna build it?" Jes asked
kicking the ground as she walked. "Good point." He said. She started
laughing and soon the two were aching with laughter.
  Raps and Sari left the kitchen with aching hands and lifeless hair.
"Whod've thunk eleven people could make such a mess?" Raps declared
wiping
her forehead with one clammy hand. "I got dibs on the shower tonight
first." Sari said starting up the stairs. "You don't have to take dibs,
my
room alone has three showers." Puck said peeping around the stairwell.
Sari
and Raps sighed and broke off, one heading for the sunroom and the other
heading for Races room.

Subject: roomies pt 2

   Pt 2

Bab sighed and kicked off her shoes. She took her long blonde hair down
and put the tie on the nightstand. Sure the guest room wasn't as flashyas
the
others, but she had taken care of that problem by sticking posters of
Leonardo DiCaprio and Savage Garden on the drab white walls. She suddenly
thought of something and ran downstairs to the kitchen. "Here you are Mr.
Jumbo Pop." She said dragging out the huge popcorn popper. She loaded it
up
with popcorn kernels and started it up. She waited for five minutes then
took out the humoungus bowl of popcorn. She took out the butter and salt
and loaded it up. Then she took the bowl upstairs and yelled, "POPCORN!"
Suddenly, a wet red head poked out of Race's room, a short red head poked
out of Jonny's room, two  blondes and two brunettes poked out of Jessies
room, and two more out of the sunroom, a dirty blonde from Hadji's room
and
Matt poked his head from the stairs. Bab smiled and motioned for everyone
to come down to the den. Everyone came out of their rooms, tantalized by
the scent of popcorn.
  "Matt get the other side of that couch will ya?" Oberon said picking up
the
couch and,with Matts help, moving it back all the way to the windows. The
girls ran to their rooms to load in front of the fire their pillows. Puck
and Oberon had gone to the kitchen to get some chocolate bars and drinks
and
Puck had to start the fire up. The den was huge and the formed a circle
around the middle. Erin reached out and grabbed a handful of popcorn; and
threw a piece at Allison. Allison opened her mouth but never caught it.
Christa reached out and caught it. "AH NO FAIR!" Allison yelled. Suddenly
Loren got an idea. . . "Just a sec guys, this is out first night here. .
lets do something  fun!" She yelled running upstairs. She ran into her
room
and grabbed her Polaroid camera when she got into the den, everyone had
gotten into a  big group and  Puck at the head of it standing up. "hey
what's up?" Loren asked tromping down to the group. "were fixing to have
elections!" Allison chirped. "For what?" Loren asked plopping down.
Oberon
leaned over, "Exactly why were having votes. We are going to make this
house into a deal here. Like King and Queen and all that stuff only they
wouldn't act like it, it'd just be in name." He explained. Loren nodded
her
head. Puck took a deep breath and said "We are making nominations for the
name of this 'Kingdom' any suggestions?" She heard a small voice in the
back. "Yeah well theres only two guys. .this place is like a freakin
ghetto. ." Puck pondered the thought and said "Anyone??" Oberon spoke up.
"Land Beyond?" It was a weak attempt. "OK All for Land beyond  raise your
hands!" She cried. No one raised their hands. "All  for-" She thought for
a
minute then said "-Getto Land?" Everyone turned to her. Raps started
snickering. Then she raised her hand. The Jes and Sari, Allison and Erin
Joined in. Matt and Loren, then Oberon and Crista. Finally, Bab raised
her
hand. Puck went down to Oberon and whispered in his ear and he ran
upstairs.
He came back down with the same costume sword that he had threatened Puck
with earlier. He placed it in her hands and said "Aye M'Lady" She
snickered
 but held the sword high over her head ad said loudly, "I hereby name
this
the grand Palace of Getto Land!" Everyone clapped. She stepped aside and
said "We need a monarchy. Lets see. . .enniee meeny Miny moe!" Her finger
landed on Jes. Jes got up and walked up t where Puck was. "Everyone for
Jes, raise your hands!" She said. Oberon raised his hand and so did Matt.
Soon hands were going up and Sari was waving hers about. Raps followed
Sari
and Christa Allison and Erin followed suit and Bab and Loren all raised
theirs too. Puck said "Go down." Jes bent down. "I hereby appoint you the
first Queen of Getto land!" And She bought the sword own on Jes' Back
then
pulled it back up. Applause and a popcorn shower covered Jes and Puck.
Puck
Handed the sword to Jes and said "Go ahead." And Puck Sat down next to
Oberon. "Hmmmm first order of business is. . .the Princess of Getto
land."
Jes said.  All the girls in the room sat up straight and proper then fell
over laughing. Puck was poking the fire looking interested and talking to
Oberon. "I nominate Puck as Getto Princess!" Puck's head snapped up and
she
turned around. She got up and walked to the front of the room. Just as
she
got there, A huge CRACK! set the compound shaking an suddenly the lights
were out. Puck fell to the floor and rolled to the first person. There
was
surprised shrieks and cries and she sought shelter in the brief time in
warm arms. Soon the fire was the only light and she looked at who was
holding her. Oberon had his arms circled around her and his head tucked
beside hers. but without power the flames grew smaller and tinier.
Finally
she huddled close to his frame and hugged his arms as the lightning
flashed
and thunder rumbled outside, and finally as everyone held their breath
the
flame guttered out leaving the compound totally black and the only sounds
that were to be heard were the unmistakable sounds of sighs and gasps.
She
didn't know why but Puck felt safe here. Oberon was almost a stranger. .
.or
did she know more?. ..

  The whole compound was pitch black. Bab muttered to herself as she
groped around. Erin remembered something she had brought with her. "Hey!
Does anyone have a flashlight?" She yelled. She could hear Oberon murmur
something to someone. She heard shuffling. "It's this way I can see the
outline of the chairs!" Puck concluded. Lightning flashed and she saw
Puck
and Oberon stumbling towards the kitchen. Erin also saw the shadow
sitting at
the window...on the outside. It was only out of the corner of her eye but
she saw two figures standing outside, one was kind of tall and appeared
to
be coming straight for the window. Erin shrieked and everyone started
grumbling. "Erin, it's just lightening." Puck reassured her. Am I nuts?
maybe it IS the lightning playing tricks on my eyes. . Erin thought to
herself.  Allison looked up at the window and in another flash of light
the
figure was at the window and had one hand on it, trying to pull it up.
Allison screamed and got up, tripping over a few people in running to the
stairs. A few others noticed the figure and started screaming and running
back towards the fireplace. Everytime the lightning flashed the face of
the
figure lit up in a ghostly pallor. It's teeth shone a light green/gray,
and
it's eyes shone out unearthly. It's hand raked down the glass as if
meaning
to scratch a hole in it's thick surface to get in. Matt had fainted when
he
tripped over one of the many bodies and hit his head on the coffee table.
Puck and Oberon hurried back to the living room with four huge
flashlights.
"Here, these should- HOLY SHIT!" Puck yelled as she saw the figure light
up. She ran to the window, hiding her immense fear and shone the
flashlight
in the figures face. That's when she noticed the other one. It hunched
like
a gargoyle under the oak tree in the front yard She gasped and shone the
huge light in the figures face. "TAKE THAT!!" She cried as the figure
moved
its hand over its eyes. Suddenly at the sight of thick wet blonde hair
and
thin features she half recognized the figure, which she now knew was
female, from a sticker picture she had seen on a website. WHERE have I
seen
her face? What's her name? She suddenly remembered a name from under it.
"Kat?" she whispered. Jes's voice rose out of the inky blackness; "Where
Kat?" She said. "I think it's Kat!" Puck yelled out loud. Jes ran to the
window  and peeked out. Then out of sheer surprise, Jes opened the window
and yelled into the side rain; "Kat!" The girl looked over and yelled;
"Jes!? Is that you?"  Jes yelled a 'yes' and the girl yelled "Owen! Come
on
they quit screaming!"  The other figure stood up and carried his huge bag
to the window. The bag came soaring in and hit the body of Matt, who
jerked
awake and yelled "What the mutha-" as loud as he could. Everyone turned
to
stare at where Puck's flashlight beam was pointing. Matt blushed and
nervously laughed. Then Jes went up to Kat. "Kat, what are you and Owen
doing here?" Kat rung out her wet ponytail  and muttered. Mine and Owens
flight was delayed because of shitty weather. we were SUPPOSED to be here
yesterday. Allison and Christa were standing up and holding onto the
fireplace. Oberon got an idea. "Hey, Are there any kitchen matches?" He
gestured to the unscarred logs in the fireplace. "Hey theres a fireplace
in
almost every room in the house. I'll bet we could start a fire in
everyone
of them that has people." Loren said getting up. Everyone looked to the
two
people at the front of the room. Puck shrugged and walked towards the
kitchen. I'll probably never understand her, but then again who can?
Oberon
thought as he watched her walk. Oberon busied himself with talking to a
few
people and bringing up parts of the movie Scream. Puck came back with
eight
grill lighters. "Will these do?" She asked knowingly. Oberon smirked and
took
one. "Okay, how many people here are in a room with a fireplace?" Oberon
asked. Puck raised her hand, Jes raised hers, Loren, and Bab raised
theirs.
"I know I've got one too so Jes, Loren,Bab You guys take one and go light
your fireplaces. I'll get this one started so we can continue our
'elections'." Puck rubbed his shoulder an said "I'm gonna find Kat and
Owen
a room." Oberon only nodded. Bab and Puck walked together as Puck carried
Kat
and Owens bags. "I don't know about you but I like him." Puck said with
Owen and Kat walking behind her. "I like my Joshie better but he isn't
here." Bab pouted. "Who are they talking about?" Owen asked. "Did you see
that guy downstairs with red hair?" Owen nodded. "That's Oberon, Cash114,
and
I think Puck has a crush on him." Owen stifled a giggle as they walked up
to the hall.
  "Okay on with elections!" Jes shouted brandishing the sword once more. 
Kat and Owen settled down. Puck and Oberon were whispering and
snickering.
"Oberon and Princess, please contain thy laughter!" Jes said almost
laughing
herself. "Yes Mother dear." Puck said laughing even harder. "Aye M'Lady!"
Oberon said falling backward. The room erupted in giggles and Babs voice
rang
out clear when Jes sat down and her shoulders started to shake with
laughter. After more than a few people had broken off and walked/ran to
the
bathrooms, Jes stood up and said "Elections for Guardian!" "Of what?"
Owen
asked. "Yeah Jes what's this 'election' all about?" Kat said. "This
compound is now known as Getto Land. And I am Queen. Puck is my adopted
daughter, meaning she is Princess of Getto land, and now we are looking
for
a guardian." She explained. Christa looked up and said "I think either
Matt
or Oberon should do it!" Jes thought about it. "Oh wait wait wait, I got
one!" Loren shouted. "Matt could be guard Dragon of Getto land and Oberon
could protect the Princess!" She giggled. Jes started to laugh but then
said "Anyone here dislike Loren's plan?" No one said anything. Jes looked
around and saw that neither Puck no Matt was in the room. "Damn they need
to get in here." Jes breathed to herself. Bab took a deep breath and
yelled; "Puck, MATT GET YOUR LAZY ARSES IN HERE!!!" Then she sat down.
The
room applauded approvingly and before long Matt and Puck came trotting
in.
"Matt, and Oberon, we have found positions for you." Oberon spoke up "I
hope
it's not upside-down that's painful." everyone snickered. Puck blushed
and
said "Ummmm what are they?" Jes giggled and said "Matt, I appoint you the
official Getto Dragon/Guard."  Matt bowed and Jes laid the sword on Matts
back. Then Jes said "Okay. Oberon, hold Pucks hand. ." Oberon did as
told. His
warm hand slipped into hers. "Oberon I now pronounce you Guardian of the
Getto Princess" Oberon looked at Puck unsteadily. "Oberon move into
Puck's
room." Jes said with giddy fierceness. Oberon stared at Puck; Puck stared
at
Oberon. "this is one freaky household." Matt muttered looking at the
pair.
Oberon and Puck went upstairs to move some things into Puck's room.. . .
. .

After Oberon and Puck disappeared up the top rung of the stairs, Matt
went
up to Jes. "What was that all about? Sticking those two in the same room
is
begging for something to happen!" He yelled in a whisper. Jes didn't
care,
she sweeped her long brown hair out of the way and and stared at him.
"It's
not like they're gonna DO anything, theyre not even going out. I mean and
there are three other girls in there with him." Matt was undeterred,
"LISTEN to me, he's gonna be in there and the only place to put an extra
bed is on either side of hers! I don't care if he's the Getto bathroom
monitor, DON'T put him in her room!" He shrieked. Jes was still not
convinced. "You are one sick-minded little boy. Is that ALL you ever
think
about?" Matts face turned red. "NO! And I don't deserve to be treated
like
this!" Jes retorted "Kiss my ass!!". He turned on his heels and started
to
walk to the door. "Matt!? Bab said,"you can't go out there it's
storming!"
Loren Erin and christa chided in with her. Matt turned around, his face
sporting red splotches. "I can do whatever the hell I want now leave  me
alone!!" And he ripped open the door and went out into the blinding rain,
running down the slope to the dark oblivion. Jes calmly went and shut the
door behind him. "If he's out there and planning for me to come out and
beg
forgiveness; he's got another thing coming!" She said and stormed
upstairs
to bed.
  Oberon and Puck dragged Jonny's bed into Pucks room. "well, theres only
one
place to put it, and that's beside mine." Puck said looking at the
fan-like
position of the beds. Erin came upstairs to find an amber light glowing
in
the fireplace. "I thought it was just for a little while." She said
walking
over to her bed. Christa came in leaning on Allison and yawned. "We'll
look
for the fusebox in the morning. right now, I just wanna get over what
happened tonight." Oberon said getting his one black bag from the next
room.
He grabbed his toothbrush and started for the bathroom. Puck went with
him.
"Are you stalking me?" He asked looking at her. "No," she said
unsteadily.
"I'm just well. . scared of an unlighted bathroom." There she'd admitted
it. He stopped and opened the door. "AS Getto Guardian of the Princess,
it's my job to see that no harm shall befall you." He said. she walked in
and started to run the water. He put his hand on her shoulder and said
"See? what are you afraid of something coming out of the sink?"  She
stopped and stared at him. "Mo, I'm Fscared uf fumthin comin out of fhe
toilet." She said sarcastically through the foam. Christa came in and
started laughing. Puck rolled her eyes and spit the toothpaste out. 
  Matt stood at the pinnacle of the roof of the Compound. he reached into
his pocket and pulled out a picture in a locket. She looks too much like
Jes. Now she's gone... he thought and let the rain and wind blow away his
tears. His eyes replayed the same thing over and over again. he looked
out
over the sea, angry and unforgiving. Did anyone care at all? WOULD anyone
care. He looked again at the crashing waves and then back to the slippery
roof. His big leather boots held steady. he took off his jacket and let
it
fly away in the wind. he stared at it and reached for his pocket. he
thought again; this time remembering. Remembering what she had once told
him. You can fly. if only you believe in yourself. Fly...fly...fly... The
word echoed away in the sound of thunder. One look at the sea below the
Compound and one look at the picture.  Fly..fly..fly.. The word wouldn't
leave his brain. His boots made heavy clomping noises as he ran down to
the
even roof, over Pucks room and he spread his arms and stared at the sea
and
at the sea alone. As he flung his body off of the roof and down the cliff
the words echoed again and again. You can fly...believe...fly.. it faded
as
his clothes flapped in the windy rain and his thoughts and body seemed to
fall in slow motion. I'm free. . he thought as his body hit the hard
packed
sand. AS he lay slowly dying,arm twisted crazily beneath him and blood
seeping from his mouth he felt no pain, only freedom from a existence
chained to flesh and blood. This was freedom, a painless way out. The
words
echoed again in his dulling mind as his vision blurred and his breath
came
and went for the last time they said to him,  Fly..freedom..no more
pain..
Then his eyes closed, his heart stilled, and the words ceased into
blackness.
   Kat woke to a horrendous banging on the front door. She yawned and
slung
on her purple silk robe she 'borrowed' from the closet. She walked down
the
stairs raking her fingers through her long blonde hair and walked down to
the den. The Getto sword lay on the ground before the fireplace. She
picked
it up and  carried it with her. When she opened the door the saw a kinda
tallish kid with jet black hair and brown eyes standing with his bag. Kat
still hadn't used her voice but she knew who it was. She turned and put
all
of her strength into her morning voice. "BAB!!! Josh is here!!!" Bab
jerked
up thinking her ears had deceived her and the said quickly "Joshie?" She
got up in her shirt and bunny slippers and practically flew down the
stairs. Josh looked inside the house and shouted "Leila?!" A small blonde
girl came spinning downstairs. "Joshie!" She shouted! They gave each
other
a hug and suddenly a scream resounded off the inner walls and hallways of
the compound. It was the  voice of Erin and Puck. Everybody was in the
room
at once with Puck shaking at the window and her hands pressed over her
mouth. Oberon looked down and saw what she saw. "Oh God." He breathed.
There
from where Puck was standing she could see the battered body of Matt
Kilgore.  She sank to her knees then made a run for the bathroom. She
sank
to her knees, she couldn't stand the sight of death. She was too familiar
with death. When she finished Oberon came into the bathroom where she was
sitting in the shower with the cold water turned on soaking her making
her
blonde strands stick to her face. She shuddered when Oberon reached down
to
pick her up and carry her out. her arms slipped around his neck  and she
clung to him. He sat on the bed and just held her. What was making her
act
this way? "Guys guess whos-" she was cut off by the disturbing sight. Jes
was the only one not in the room. Sari went in search and found her
knocked
out with a bag of marshmallow peepz beside her. Sari definitely did NOT
want to go there. Puck had a experience that left her scarred for life.
Jes
was passed out by sugar. What was happening??

Jes woke to find her bag of peepz gone and Sari keeping vigil. She sat up
but all the sugar she had eaten went to her brain and she put her head in
her hands. "You know what happened, don't you?" Sari asked quietly. Her
usually bouncing red hair hung loosely at her shoulders, her eyes limpid
and clouded. Her mouth was straight and thin and her face was red
splotched. Jes struggled to speak. "The last thing I remember was seeing
Matt on the roof, after that I went down to the kitchen and ate Peepz
until
I guess I passed out." She remembered watching him take off his jacket.
Tears came to her eyes. 'No I will tell no one. Ever.' She vowed
inwardly.
When Sari left to go find Raps, Jes turned over in the daybed and sobbed.
  Raps was down in the kitchen staring at the lighthouse. Her brown hair
pulled back in a sloppy ponytail. Her soft brown eyes staring at nothing
yet everything. She turned around and joined Oberon and Puck, who was
still
in Oberons protective grasp. Her eyes clouded over with something like
pain
only it was worse. Her voice was without voice, it was simply a sound.
Nothing more. Her Hand felt tiny in Oberons, like a dolls hand. She felt
flushed with fever at memories that would not surface, yet her skin was
cold to the touch. Oberon was worried about what she was going to do.
What
was she hiding to have traumatized her this much? He felt pain but urged
her to go upstairs and try to get dressed.
  Allison and christa were shocked by the death but they, Loren and Bab
felt quizzical about WHERE the body would go. Josh and Owen had gone down
to briefly look at the body. Matt's light brown hair fell over his closed
eyes, his neck bent to the point of nearly snapping off. His right arm,
the
one he had appeared to have had landed on, was broken in four places,
maybe
more but that was where Owen could see the bones protruding out of his
skin. Although it seemed a terrible death, there was no look of pain on
his
face, but rather a one of someone who had just been set free. Owen looked
away, and started walked walking down the path. Josh had just stood
there,
staring down at the boy, wondering if, someday he would end up the same
way.
                     *      *     * 
 It had been nearly a week since Matt's death. No one acted the same, but
then again, their summer vacation had been rocked by a suicide. Puck kept
more with Oberon, who seemed to be the only one who really understood
her.
Jes was slowly getting over it, but there was still something she was
hiding. Sari and Puck were growing closer and Loren had no one to turn
to.
Owen, who had decided they should perform a short service, then throw the
body to the sea. This they had done over three weeks ago. The had all
sworn
that none of them was to speak a word to an outsider about the death
until
the summer was over. Owen and Loren started to confide in each other.
Allison, Erin and Christa had been solemn, rarely speaking a word to
anyone. One day as Puck was sitting in the lighthouse window, up high,
she
looked down to where Oberon was standing at the lighthouse door. He
called up
to her and she smiled down at him, and lightheartedly jumped down to the
stairs. She wore a striped shirt with shorts. He could see the dark patch
at the top of her head. "Umm...Oberon, I was wondering if you could come
into
town with me today and uh.." She stalled and stammered and he caught on.
"Buy something right?" She nodded as if embarrassed. Her face turned red.

"What is it?" Oberon asked looking at her. She lifted her face and
blurted
out. "I want to get some dark brown dye for my hair. I hate being false
like this." He took her in his arms and said "You got money?" She always
carried a little with her. She pulled out a ten and five ones. "Come on,
do
you want to walk or should we beg Jes to drive us?" She smiled briefly
and
said "It's nice outside, I think we should walk."  Before they started
walking to the compound they could see into the windows. In her room,
they
could see Christa, Allison and Erin, bouncing on their beds. That's when
Puck vowed to herself. "Oberon, would you agree with m if I told you I'm
going to whip this kingdom into shape?" She asked Oberon. "As your
Guardian,
I would have to say only if you believe so ma'am." She laughed. She stood
up straighter and walked into the kitchen. Then stormed into the Getto
front hall. which was the den where it all started. "GETTO MEETING!!!!"
She
yelled in her silvery voice. Oberon took his place beside her. Soon the
compound was alive again with happily whispering voices and clomping
feet.
The Getto Queen and the Getto Princess stood side-by-side. The getto
sword
lay now in the hands of the Princess. Puck raised it high over her head
and
said "I know that in the past week we have all had trying times. I know
some of you have just recently come to terms with this tragedy, but it is
time for us to have fun again. The summer can't be wasted like this! Make
use of everything you find! Play outside, get in the hottub! Did not the
Quests say that everything in the house was ours to use!?" a murmur went
up
around the room. "Do something different! Do something you've NEVER done
before! Be alive now! We can model down here! Don't some of the closets
have dresses in them? Didn't some of you say we needed some excitement?"
This time the murmur went up into a chorus of 'yeahs'. Puck stood up tall
and lithe and said "Tonight! We will hold a banquet! Then a truth or dare
competition, we will stay up all night and recapture the reason we came
here for!" She yelled. Bab shouted up, "Formal?" Puck smiled, her voice
coming back, "Go through the closets! Men in tuxedos! Women, if you can
find the most elegant dresses and gowns! Cologne and perfume, if you
don't
have any find some!" Then in midstentance, Oberon, who had become infused
with this catchy mood, turned her t face him and kissed her. Her first
intentions were to push him away, but she found herself kissing him back,
enjoying it. He pulled away, and some of the valor that her speech ha
given
him faded and he started to blush. She smiled at him and hooked her arm
in
his and walked out of the door feeling alive for the first time in years.

 Bab had been pepped by the speech and had dragged Josh off to find a
dress and tuxedo. Jes definitely did NOT want to wear a dress so she went
through Jonny's closets and found a tux that looked like it might fit
her.
But, she slipped into Rachel's room and got a pair of diamond earrings
and
a chained gold necklace. These she put on and went to the room and
started
to brush her hair into a high ponytail-tuck. Raps and Sari went in two
different directions and you could hear Raps laughing for the first time
since Matts death. Christa and Allison both grabbed Erin's arms and the
three friends plodded off to find dresses in the immense attic. While
they
were going through some of the closets and things; Allison found a coat
that she recognized. It was Jes'. Above it was an open skylight. Then a
pair of Jes' sneakers that she had lost recently. Allison shuddered and
tucked the items under her arm and showed them to Christa and Erin.
Christa
touched the belongings with a trembling finger. The faded Nikes and the
Starter jacket definitely belonged to Jes. Erin bit her lip and stuffed
the
shoes inside the coat and hurried down the stairs. She threw the things
under the bed. She didn't know why, but she had broken out in a cold
sweat
and was slightly trembling. She didn't know what it was but it was
strong.
  Oberon and Puck walked down to the town. They were laughing and joking
about they way he had kissed her. Every so often they would stop and
catch
a breath. Then when they finally got into town, they headed straight for
the nearest BX-PX. "Why here?" Oberon asked puling out his wallet with
his
I.D.  "I'm an adopted army brat. It's pure instinct." She said doing the
same. They walked through the unfamiliar building looking at several
items,
then they came back to the back where hair dye was sold. Puck bought a
dye
to change her hair back to chocolate brown. They walked back through and
with her extra change she bought a tiny silver cross and some chap-stick.
He had walked off supposedly gone off the bathroom for a minute and she
was
to wait outside. when he met her outside she looked as if she were about
to
sneeze. She busted out in gales of laughter. Oberon cracked his first
smile
since it all began. They looked at each other and started the trek back.
  Allison tried on three dresses before finding the purple satin dress
with
four inch heels. She pulled her long blonde hair up into a braid and had
a
long pin through it. Christa pulled the brown short dress over her head
and
buttoned it up. then she fluffed  her hair and put on the heels. Erin
went
through her bags and found her white satin dress. It looked like she was
getting married. Her long sandy brown-blonde hair looked like fluffy
clouds
over her shoulders. There was much laughing and shouting downstairs. It
was
Puck and Oberon breaking apart and going upstairs to find some stuff.
Puck
went straight into the shower with a towel and she came out 25 minutes

later with her hair in a towel and her body in a robe. She walked into
her
room and stayed there for about an hour.  Oberon walked downstairs and
into
the den where most of the Getto Kingdom were finishing up the last
touches
on theyre ensembles. When everyone was assembled in the dining
room..there
was much food. Bab had taken a place next to Josh who was wearing a blue
tux with his hair slicked back. Jes was at the head of the table and two
places down were empty..waiting to be filled by Oberon and Puck. Then
there
was Owen, who was dressed in  dress slacks and a white shirt. and Loren
beside him. Then Christa and Allison and Erin to the end. and on the
other
side was Sari and Raps then the two empty spots back to Jes. Jes turned
on
the stereo and one of Pucks' many nature and piano songs came out. Then
somebody, maybe Erin, gasped then everyone turned their heads to watch
Puck
and Oberon come in from the den. Oberon was wearing all black tuxedo and
had
his arm looped with Pucks. She was wearing a long black velvet dress with
one side slit up to the thigh and a rhinestone anklet. Her hair was
finally
chocolate brown and had ringlets in the back and spiral curls on the
sides.
She smiled and her mouth turned up at the corners. She walked on her high
heels to her place and looked at the food. There were melon,orange,and
banana slices, there were pieces of French silk pie and lemon meringue.
There was lemon custard and chocolate pudding; vanilla wafers and chicken
legs. SO many foods. then she saw the drinks. there was champagne and
wine.
there were daiquiris and water and lemon iced tea. There was cranberry
punch and one lone bottle of Chartuese. She clapped her hands and picked
up
a bottle of red wine. She poured everyone a glass in the crystal glasses
and  raised hers up slowly and said "This will begin a new summer. This
first glass of Gettos best wine! And here's to Matt, the lone shark. May
he
rest in peace!" And she lifted her glass and sipped a little. then she
sat
down and began to eat and drink. Owen looked at Loren. He said; "Is she
some kinda born leader?" She looked at him halfway eating a lemon slice
form the Lemon chicken plate. "Maybe. Hey are you gonna eat that?" She
said
pointing to the half eaten chicken leg in his fingertips. he returned to
eating it with relish. Raps ate in silence, talking only to Sari.
Allison,
Christa and Erin were conversing about the guys. "I'll bet you 10 dollars
that Puck and Oberon will go out." Erin said taking another sip of the
white
wine. "I'll raise you to 15 about Loren and Owen." Allison said
swallowing
her lemon piece. Christa looked at Josh. "Hey, he looks like that guy
from
B.B.!" The trio looked hard at Josh before chiding. "I know!" But Allison
and Erin shook hands on the 10 and 15 dollar bets and resumed eating. Jes
and Puck were talking about the Getto affairs and Oberon stood up. He
tapped
his glass a little and said "Fine citizens on Getto Land. I bring ye a
question." Jes answered back; "What do ye have an mind Getto guardian?"
She
smiled slightly. Oberon took one of Pucks hands and said "Puck, princess
of
Getto land, could I have the pleasure of courting ye?" Jes added plainly;
"In layman's terms he wasn't to go out with her." Puck Smiled and said
"Aye, I'd love to!" And she blushed a little. Oberon reached into his
pocket
and brought out a necklace. it was a small Austrian crystal on a woven 
green thread-like string. This he slipped over her head and said "I
promise
ye've not made a mistake."  And he too, blushed. Jes smiled. She had been
in on it. She went into the kitchen and brought out the Getto Sword.  She
lay it on Puck's shoulder. "You are now not only the Getto Princess you
are
the Getto Girlfriend. And you Oberon," She lay the blade on his shoulder.
"are now the Getto Boyfriend and Getto Guardian. May yer relationship be
long and end in 'I do'" she said and sat back down. No one knew it but
tonight..would change the course of the summer yet again..for the better.

After dinner was over, the three now best friends Allison Christa and
Erin,
all went upstairs to get out of their clothes and into their PJs. "I told
ya..and we even bet on it. Pay up." Erin said untieing the silver ribbon
in
her hair. Alison dug into her bags and put the ten and five dollar bill
into Erin's. Smiling good-naturedly, Erin pressed the money back Into
Allison's hand. "I was just playing around..I could never take money like
that." Allison felt a wave of red go across her face. All of a sudden
they
heard a yell and a laugh come from the dining room. They stuck the heads
out of the door long enough to see Puck shriek past the door at top speed
with Oberon right behind her. Puck darted around the corner and laughed
some
more. Oberon growled and went after her. Allison busted into laughter.
Erin
and Christa followed. Christa  slipped into the long nightgown and put on
her robe. Erin lets the dress go without the belt-like rope and said "I
don't care. I'm sleeping like this." And she giggled. Allison came out of
the bathroom and plopped down on her bed. She lay back and kicked her
feet
up. Puck came flying into the room sopping wet and make a beeline for the
bathroom. "Good Lord..what happened to you?" Erin asked. "Oberon and I
were
horsing around and he accidentally pushed me in the pool." Erin's mouth
sagged. "I got him back though..I pulled him in with me." She smirked. At
the next moment Oberon cam in looking like a drowned rat.
"Damnit..sombody
turn up that fire it's cold in here." Puck said shivering in her wet
dress.
Erin went to the bathroom and got her a towel and Oberon went into the
bathroom to change. Puck went into the opposite bathroom. When the two
came
out of their bathrooms..Puck had taken a shower and was wearing a pink
fluffy robe and a towel over her head. Oberon came out in a 'borrowed'
black
silk robe. he walked to his bed  with a sort of strut then started
laughing. Suddenly Bab's voice rang out clearly; "TRUTH OR DARE!" Puck
perked up, as did Christa and Allison and Erin. Puck caught hold Oberon's
hand, pulled him to his feet and the five ran downstairs and into the
Getto
main hall.  There were pillows everywhere; and one bottle of good Korbel
Champagne. Puck plopped down on a pillow and said "Damnit first I was
cold
now I'm hot,what is wrong with me?" she said shucking off her robe.
Oberon
peered over at her. She was wearing a pink satin nightgown. Jes clapped
her
hands and said "Everyone into your Getto Positions." Everyone moved into
a
circle with Jes Puck and Oberon facing the fire, Josh ,Bab and Erin
facing
the stairs, Owen,Loren and Allison facing Josh and Bab and Erin. and
Christa and Raps sat beside the fire making the circle complete. Jes took
the glasses and passed everyone one and then passed the bottle of Korbel
around until everyone had a full glass of champagne. Jes then broke out
in
a smile. "We gather in the mail hall to play the sacred game of midnight
truth or dare." She drew out a tube of Rembrant toothpaste. "This tube of
tooth cleaner shall be the wand. Anyone who has the wand it is their turn
to ask a question to whomever ye like. There be only two rules. Yes can't
pick on one person, and ye HAVE to do whatever yer asked to do." She put
the toothpaste tube into Puck's hand and said "Yer the Princess..Ye
start."
Puck Smiled evilly. She looked around and her eyes fell on Sari. "Ladi
Sari..Truth or Dare?" Sari laughed. "Dare." Puck smirked and thought a
moment. "I dare ye to steak around the compound. Outside." Sari turned a
deep red. "Does anyone have any Windex?" Oberon chimed. Puck laughed.
Sari
got up and took off her nightgown. She smirked at Puck as if to say "Your
next DEAREST." and she put the last of her clothes on the fireplace
mantle.
Then she turned and walked outside. Everyone said for her to streak
around
the front yard. Sari took off at a run laughing with every step. She made
three complete laps before coming back inside shivering. It was a cold
night even for June. The came back inside and Sari redressed and sat
down.
Then Puck threw the tube to her. "I suppose I damned myself eh?" Puck
said.
Sari let the words fade. "Ladi Puckie, Truth, or Dare?" Puck didn't
think.
"Dare." Sari's face grew wider and wider. "I dare ye to come down here
and
model the skimpiest bathing suit and dance around the column there." She
pointed to the long thin column in the far corner of the room. Puck
Smiled.
She got up and left her robe and went running upstairs. About fifteen
minutes later Puck came down the stairs in Pointe shoes and a string
bikini.A black string bikini. She brought down the stereo and plugged it
in. The she put in the Madonna CD and went to # 5. Skin. She went
trotting
over to the pole-like column and held on to it while the music warmed up.
AS soon as the beat was recognizable she went en Pointe and started to
dance around the pole.It was apparent that she was good at it but the
group
didn't know HOW good. Only Oberon knew. He closed his eyes until the last
of
the song had ended. Then when she came back en Pointe he held her robe up
to her and she put it on and sat in his lap. he held her and Sari tossed
the tube to Bab. "Sir Joshua, Truth or Dare?" Josh looked over to her.
"Dare." he said without a care. Bab's eyes lit up. "I dare ye to wear
nothing but boxers for the rest of the week!" Josh smiled a little and
stripped to his boxers. Bab then tossed the tube to Josh. Who surveyed
the
room. His gaze fell on Jes. His grin was wicked. "Lady Jes. Truth or
Dare?"
Jes yawned a little. "Dare." She said rolling her eyes. "I dare ye to.."
he
thought hard. "I dare ye to prank call yer parents." Jes smiled and went
to
pick up the phone. AS soon as she dialed the #s the phone began to ring.
A
woman answered. Jes slurred her voice to be a sort of Australian sound.
"Yes, I'm with the Good Vibrations Playtoy  Co. And I wanted to know if
you
want to order any of our exotic Toys." Jes listened closely to her
mothers
words. "What are you selling?" She asked. "We have love lotion, love
toys,
love dolls,and love books on positions." Jes was trying not to laugh.
"What's on the love toy list?" Mrs. Dileo asked. "We have vibrators,
Dongs
and elongations." Jes said trying no to giggle. "What kind of Dongs?" Jes
was pacing now. "We have the Emperor Dongs, Capt. Smut Dongs and Oberonny
Raye Dongs." Jes's mother cleared her throat. "What's the Emperor Dong?"
Jes racked her brain. "The Emperors go up to 13' and 4'5 around." Jes's
mom
hesitated. "How much?" Jes couldn't stand it. "what a sick mind you have
you lady. I am just a little kid. You are one sick lady..I'm gonna tell
my
momma." And she hung up. The whole room burst into laughter.  Jes started
giggling and took the tube from Josh. She looked around the room. Her
eyes
fell on Oberon, who was cuddling Puck and whispering in her ear. "Sir
Oberon. Truth or Dare?" Oberon perked his ears. "Dare." he said somewhat
shakily.  "I dare ye to..." She thought hard. "I dare ye to take Ladi
Puckie
and have a game of Strip Twister. Oberon groaned and said "That I cannot
do..I shall suffer the consequences." Jes pouted. "Then I dare ye to act
gay for the rest of the night." Oberon's whole appearance seemed to
change;
then he said, "well what are ya staring at me for silly lets play!" in a
un-Oberon-like way. Puck busted out in gales of Laughter. The Jes threw
the
tube to Oberon. "Oh look at that, it's MY turn!" He said in that voice.
He
looked about the room and he said "Rapsie! I dare ya to eat a biscuit
with
ketchup and chocolate syrup. Yummy!" He said folding his hands. Raps
busted
out in giggles and ran to the kitchen. Everyone followed. There Raps made
a
biscuit and ketchup and chocolate sandwich. Then she wolfed it down and
asked whose turn it was. She was handed the tube. Her eyes fell to Erin.
"Well Erin..from the time I laid eyes on ya for the first time, I have
never seen you use a wordy dird(Dirty Word), so you have to say the
meanest
nastiest word you can think of." Raps's words sunk into Erin's brain. Her
face turned bright purple and she turned to the wall and yelled. "Fuck
you!" Puck staggered a little. Erin blushed and was handed the tube. She
looked at Christa. "Ladi Krista, Truth or Dare?"  Christa smiled. "Dare."
Erin's eyes grew to almost over green-blue. "I dare ye to give yerself a
swirly." She said. Christa started to laugh but everyone followed her
into
the bathroom and bend her head into the toilet and flush her hair.
Christa
then yanked the tube and looked at Allison. "Ladi Ali. Truth or Dare?"
Allison licked her lip. "Dare." Erin smiled. "Ladi Ali I dare ye to
skinny
dip." Allison smiled. She stripped down..ran to the hall over looking the
pool and climbed over the bar and dove into the pool. She swam around for
awhile and then came out. Somebody threw her a towel. Allison grabbed the
Tube and called out "Sir Owen! Truth or Dare? Owen trembled. "Truth."
"Ohhh
a challenge!" She thought a minute. "Is it true Sir Owen..that ye are not
a
virgin?" Owen  turned bright pink. "Aye that I am a virgin.. And I'll be
keepin it that way for a long time to come." He said. Allison tossed him
the tube. "Ahh Ladi Loren. Truth or Dare?" Loren looked at him. "Dare." A
spread over his face. "I dare ye to kiss the one boy here ye like." Loren
looked bright red, then purple,then pale again. The she walked up to
Owen,
and kissed him on the mouth. Owen blushed and tossed the tube to Loren.
She
smiled and said "Ladi Puckie, Truth or Dare?" Puckie looked over. "DARE!"
She
said with pride. "I dare ye to deep-kiss Sir Oberon." Loren said with an
evil grin. "Puck stood up, walked over to Oberon, put her hands on his
face
and kissed him softly but deeply. He put his arms around her and kissed
her
back. They broke apart and the whole compound busted into cheers. Oberon
put
his arm around Puck and started to walk upstairs. "Hey Sir Oberon,, tis
not gay ye act!" Jes yelled. Oberon turned around and stuck his tongue
out at
Jes and said "I know that silly..but..I'm sssleepy..it's sssuper!" Puck
smiled approval. "Niters!" she yelled.  "Nighters!" Everyone called back.
Everyone broke out and went to their rooms for bedtime.

Sunlight filtered through the window in Sari's room. It was early in the
morning and no one was up yet. She got up and reached for her bag. She
pulled out her swimsuit and ran to Rap's room. Together the two went down
to the pool and silently got in. "Ahhh pool first thing in the
morning..."
Sari said dog paddling around the pool. Raps smiled and got out looking
at
her watch. "It's 5:30 I doubt anyone will be up for a long time." She
said
getting on the diving board and doing a little bounce. Sari went under
the
water. The only thing she could hear was the sound of the board and the
sound of water waves splashing against the side of the pool. It was calm
here. "Hey Sari. I got an Idea." Raps said swimming up to her. "What?"
Sari
said making little waves with her hands. "Let's go make breakfast while
everyone's asleep." Sari smiled and got out and got a towel. She threw
one
to Raps and the wrapped their heads and bodies in white towels and padded
through the house and were almost to the kitchen when a knock came from
the
front door. Raps smiled crazily and ran for the door. When she opened the
door A kind of short girl with blond hair and greenish gray eyes stood
there. "Hi!" the Pixie chirped. Raps said "Who are you?" The girl thought
a
minute and said "I'm Cat!" Raps crossed her arm and said "Cat who?" Cat's
eyes never lost their sparkle, "Catgirl006!" she said  happily.  "hey,
what's all the commotion down here?" Jes asked coming downstairs. Sari
and
Raps 'shhh'ed her and pointed up. Jes ducked a little and shut up. Cat
came
inside and put her bags down and said "I came as soon as I could, but all
my flights were delayed until yesterday. Where's Matt?" She asked.
"MATT!!"
She yelled. She hadn't heard. Cat continued to yell for Matt and Jes and
Sari bit their bottom lips. A very faint 'shut up' came from the ceiling
and Jes thought that only Bab had lungs like that. She half snickered
before turning to Cat. "Cat, Matt sent for you?" She asked solemnly.
"Yeah,
where is he?" She asked while a stomping mass of kids came down the
stairs
with Oberon and Puck at the last. Oberon had his arm around Puck's middle
and
she was wide eyed as if she'd just woke up from a nightmare.  Cat's face
flushed as she saw Matt was not among them. "I don't get this why are you
guys hiding Matt?" Cat asked beginning to get annoyed and scared. She
heard
a sniff although it was impossible to tell who it came from. Loren turned
solemn. "You didn't know?" she said. It hit Cat in the head like a ton of
bricks. "He's gone isn't he? He left me here! DAMN!" She said and stamped
her foot. Somebody else sniffed. Not one eye was level with Cat's..they
were all to the floor. Some people shuffled their feet and some cleared
their throats; but it was obvious to Cat that something was wrong.
"what?"
she said getting a little quieter. Puck spoke up; "Matt's dead. He-" Jes
shuddered,"He threw himself off of the roof." Puck looked at Jes. "How
did,
how WOULD you know?" she questioned. Jes bit her lower lip, backed away
then ran away through the kitchen and outside, raw sobs choking her. Puck
ran after Jes, leaving Oberon's sight. Cat put a hand over her mouth and
steadied herself with the other. "He can't be dead...He sent me this
invite
only a day after he had been here!" She protested. Oberon looked at the
slip
of paper that Cat was holding. After reading it and the date he breathed
half to himself and half aloud; "She got this the day he died...." Cat
sobbed a little. She took back her paper and looked at it for a
while,then
said, "He can't be dead.... he can't be.." She whispered over and over
again. Owen grabbed Lorens hand and gave it a squeeze. Allison's face was
pale at the mentioning of the dead boy's name. Erin had begun to silently
pray and Christa was holding Bab, who was also being held by Josh. Tears
slipped silently from Sari's eyes;she wiped them away. Raps dug her
fingernails into her skin as her hands clenched in fists. Cat looked
around. "This isn't a joke is it?" She half whispered. Allison shook her
trembling head. "I wish it were...Matt and I were friends.." Oberon said
quietly. Cat looked around there was no place to run..no safe place to
hide. She bolted through the dining room and out to the lighthouse.
  What is it? You've been crying hard for over ten minutes..come
on..please
tell me what it is." Puck said to Jes. Jes took a deep breath and held
it.
Finally her shoulders stopped shaking long enough for her to say; "I saw
it. I saw Matt jump." Puck trembled. "What happened?" She asked shakily.
"well..I saw him take his locket out of his pocket, I heard him say my
name, then he took off his jacket and then just ran off the edge of the
roof.."Jes said before sobbing. Puck patted her back. "I feel terrible,,
I
mean I could have stopped it." She said  sobbing in-between most of the
words. Puck's heart was being crushed inside her rib cage. "I know what
it
feels like. Guilt that you couldn't stop it yet you feel you could have."
She said evenly. Jes stopped shuddering for a moment. "You couldn't
know..you didn't watch a very good friend of yours die." Puck felt angry
for a moment then said "No I didn't-" "-Then you don't-" "- I watched my
parents die." Puck said finally with a note of bitterness. Jes's face
softened. "What happened?" She asked, her voice husky from sobbing. "We
were in the car going to Dothan and when we were hit by a car." She
stopped
to breath slowly. "I crawled out and I could hear them screaming but I
only
ran. I didn't stop until I couldn't hear them." Puck's vision clouded.
Jes
forgot her own misery for a moment. "How old were you?" She asked. Puck
blinked. "I was seven." "You couldn't have done anything about it. You
were
scared and alone." And as Jes spoke these words Puck looked at her and
suddenly it was like if a channel had connected. The two were best
friends;
sharing similar pain and memories. All that needed was that look and in
that moment they knew they were the best of friends. Now if only someone
could see Cat's soul...

Cat's eyes blurred as she pushed in the door to the lighthouse. She heard
footsteps behind her but didn't turn around. Instead of going up the
stairs
she pushed in the door to the main room. Her eyes cleared as she looked
around. One wall was covered in blank screens and the ground was lined in
wires and cords. Her breath was held as she ran her hand over one of the
smooth black computers and keyboard. She examined the exterior of the
computer and breathed to herself,"I've never seen computers like this
before in my life." she put one hand on a screen as she sat down. A male
voice spoke up behind her. "You won't see any like this out for a long
time. Theyre home made." Oberon said settling into a computer next to
hers.
"Oh Cash it's you..." He scoffed at her remark. "I'm J-o-h-n. Not Cash.
okay?" He looked at her. "okay Oberon...how do you know so much?"  He
smiled.
He turned on his computer and the screen winked to life with the Quest
Enterprises logo. "It's okay you can turn it on..we can use everything.
Even Questworld." Her eyes grew wide. "How long have you guys been here?"

She asked.  Oberon counted in his head "About a month and a half." Cat
motioned to the screens and the four chairs in the middle; "Have you used
Questworld yet?" Oberon smirked. "WE can't find any of the games so  I
made a
new one." The screens they had turned on changed to screensavers; one
said
"Oberon And Puck Forever" and a small picture bouncing. The other had a
picture of Ballet Shoes and a picture of Allison Christa and Puck
together
on it and underneath it said "Dance Or Die" Oberon wiggled the mouse and
the
screen went back to normal. Oberon pulled something out of his pocket and
he
said into it "Hey Sweetie I'm going to show Cat the RealPlayer O.K.?" He
smiled evilly. Cat giggled. An irritated voice came from the object. "LET
ME IN THERE FIRST!" Puck yelled. Oberon pretended to act irritated. "Fine
just get in here." A minute later Puck came puffing through the door.
"O.K.
NOW We can run the RealPlayer." Cat raised an eyebrow. "Oberon and I made
this thing together in the wee hours of the morning so were the only ones
programmed in." Puck said running to the chairs. She slipped an earpiece
on. Oberon followed suit and they told Cat what keys to push and soon
both
Oberon and Puck's Questworld bodies were floating on screens. "Hey
Cat...press that pretty green button...." Puck said glancing at Oberon.
Oberon
bit his Questworld lower lip. Suddenly they were in a green hilly area
and
Puck was wearing a black dress and cloak and Oberon was in a green shirt
with
black pants. "What is up with that?" Cat asked amazed. "It's simulated
Ireland." Oberon said walking around and looking around Puck twirled
around
and sat down. "It's nice here..you almost feel like youre here!" She
looked
out dreamily. Cat sighed and walked up to the screens. Oberon looked
down.
Puck looked over at him on-screen. "Oberon you look so fake..." She said
giggling. He smirked and floated up. "Yeah well...who says who is
fake?..ms
black dress..." Oberon said. Puck looked at him sideways with a smirk and
a
toss of her hair. "Showoff" he replied. She laughed and said "Cat.. go
over
to the gray laptop and type in "Celtic", Then tell everyone you can That 
they should see this." Cat looked puzzled. "How am I gonna tell sixteen
people to get in here?" Oberon sighed. "Three syllables.. In-Ter-Com.
There's
one over by the water fountain." He said looking over at Puck. "what is
this all about?" Jes said being the head of the small troupe of kids that
cam into the door. "Well.." Puck said "Who here has heard of the games
Shivers and the 7th Guest?"
Sari Jes Christa and Allison raised their hands. "Well this is just like
those games. More Like Shivers than anything though." Oberon said. Puck
crossed her arms. "what?" Oberon asked. "Well this is the first time
we've
done anything more than the demo. AND it's the first time than someone
has
tried to put a game for a regular computer into Questworld." She
explained.
"oh that.." he said "well anywhoo..strat it up!" Oberon said pointing to
Cat.
Cat mouthed the letters as she typed in 'Celtic' all of a sudden a purple
background played over a tall building much like the compound and a wolf
howled in the background. The lighthouse door closed and the place was
dark
except for the screen.  Suddenly the story of the old Professor Quest and
the two kids Jonny and Jessie was dysplayed; showing the characters;
first
the eccentric Professor of Archaeology Dr. Quest. Then the form of the
kid
Jonny who liked the Professor and followed him into the compound
sometimes.
Then the tag-along Jessie whom Bab giggled at. Then a shot to the huge
grounds and a view of gates with four people standing out front with
keys.
Girl#1: This dare was kinda your idea you know but I'm glad I'm me out
here
and not you in there...
Boy#1: I've heard those same loving words before...like the time you guys
dared me to spend the night at that cemetery.
Boy#2: we would have never made you stay here if you hadn't...talked
about
this place so much...you being obsessed and all..
Girl#2:Come on you guys let's leave these two and get to the movie..I'm
cold (Wolf howls in the distance) 
Girl#1: Yeah and after that old professor disappeared and those two kids
never came out.... I wouldn't be surprised if he murdered them and is
still
waiting for victims....    what was that?
(A faint voice come from the compound) "Keep out keep out..they are
eeeevil..." (girl 1 shivers)
 Then the four turn around..wish the two pleasant dreams, get into a car
and drive off. Puck turned around to face Oberon. "The first symbol is
over
by the sign..come on." Oberon was reluctant to follow. "Hey how do you
know?"
Puck turned around in her jeans and black T-shirt and said "Because I own
the game remember?" She smirked. Oberon followed in-step and soon they
were
at the gazebo by the pond. The gazebo was home to a little shed with a
combination lock on the front. Puck flipped a couple of numbers and the
door flipped open. Inside was a small pot. Oberon reached in and grabbed
the
pot lid lifting it just as Puck shouted "No!" A cold wind rustled by and
something green and electrical flowed out. Puck tapped Oberon's shoulder
and
said "It'd be wise to run..."

   Puck sat out in the lighthouse with the getto sword clutched in her
fingers. in three short months this pklace had become her home. She loved
everyone here from the shy Loren to the robust Sari who liked tolaugh and
could talk for hours. She had grown to love Oberon and beilieeved that
she
had found 'the one' she had come to respect everyone here and  nothing
but one tiny 'glitch' had gone wrong. She ran her hand along the edge of
the thin blade as in a loving caress and sudenlt drew back her hand. A
thin scarlett line formed and blood welled from it.She gazed down at it.
Suddely a shadow fell on hers. She looked behind her. It was Bab. "Oh
hi.." Puck stammered gazing over her shoulder. Bab walked over nd sat
with her in the huge window. Puck smiled a little  before wiping the line
of blood on her shorts. The wind blew salty ari into the lighthouse and
Bab's hair rippled around her face as she stared at Puck with a blank
stare. "You don't want to leave do you?" She said. Puck shook her head
slowly as if in a trance. Bab looked out onto the starry night and
regarded the storm clouds. "I don't want to leave either. This place
means to much to me." Bab said. Puck sat the sword on her knees and
looked at Bab. Bab's blonde hair swirled abou her head and her bluer than
blue eyes looked glassy enough to have held marble instead of flesh and
blood. Then without saying a work bab picked up the sowrd and ran her
thumb over it's shiny edge cutting her skin easily and she clutched her
thumb to make the blood well. Then she took the still bleeding palm of
Puck and pressed it against her thumb. AS she held them together she
whispered "Never ever forget me. I know I won't forget you." Puck barely
mananged a nod and as their hands slowly stopped bleeding they realized
what friends were. Puck took the sword and smiled."I have an idea. Come
on." And the two best friends turned blod sisters ran back to the
compound in a heated wind and the smell of rai about to fall in thier
noses.
  Puck gathered the girls into  one room. Racheals room. Puck handed the
Sword to Jes, who pricked her thumb and Puck did the same. Then the
pressed thier thumbs together. "This way we will never forget each other.
We'll be bonded by blood." Jes said. The sword is free, and if yo wish,
be sisters with every girl in this room. Erin stepped forward and took
the sword and turned to Puck. "I love you Puck, as my sister and best
friend." And she ran her thumb along Pucks, whose was already bleeding.
Then Puck turned to Loren who rubbed her bleeding thumb to hers. Then she
re-opened her cut and walked to Sari who had just finished with Raps. She
hugged Sari and rubbed her thumb against hers. Then she turned to Raps
and did the same. Raps walked to Christa and rubbed thumbs. Allison
walked to Puck and pressed her forefiner to her thumb. Then Kat ran to
Erin and presed thier bleedig appedages together. Puck pressed fingers to
Christa and Kat and Jes was crying a little when se and Rap became
bloodsisters. There were many band-aids looted from Racheals bathroom and
many a tear to dry before walkig aout to the living room. The guys were
around the fire talking and Oberon and Owen and Josh wer al engaged in a
game of poker. Puck walked up to Oberon and dragged him to his feet.
Loren
went straight to Owen and Bab to Josh. Puck slipped her arms around
Oberons
neck and leaned into him. Jes and Cat ad Kat hung back. fearfull of
something but they didn't know what.The weight of Puck made Oberon saw
back
and into an upholstered Lazy-Boy. She curled up in his lap and let his
arms encircle her. Owen looked down at Loren with soft eyes and with a
soft hand he brushed back her sandy hair and kissed her forhead. Bab and
Josh were already tonguing needless to say. Kat and Jes both lifted thier
voices in harmony  in a song most of them knew. only a few verses were
sung but the melody was the same.

  After the voices of the combined room died away Puck and Erin sang a
part of a song that unless you were a very acute Ace of Base fan you
would not know it. The two voices blended perfectly  as if they had
practiced for decades. Maybe they had.

 The night continued like some sort of favorite music devotional and
finally, with tears in thier eyes they headed to bed, with Puck in
Oberons
arms and the memory of a thousand voices cradled in thier ears.

  THe next Morning Puck awoke deep in the saftey of Oberons arms and a
fammilar Red head over her. Puck blinked twice and sat up weighted down
by Oberons arm. Her nightshirt was twisted and the rest of the room was
still snoring. "What have you done to my room?" The pixie demanded. Puck
rubbed her eyes and  got out of bed. There stood Jessie bannon hands on
hips and hair hanging about her shoulders. Puck growled deep in her
throat and poke the mass of bodies on the scruched toghether beds and thy
all cam to thier senses startled by the image of Jessie standing in the
middle of the room with a look of glee on her face. "Jonny's still
wondering where his bed went." She giggled and Oberon wiggled out of the
bed and wished that he could melt into the floor. Jonny cam charging into
the room  demanding that his bed be returned but he caught a glimpse of
all the girls roaming about i confusion. "wow, Jess, you invited ALL
them?" He started lkaughing. Jessie stuck her tongue out him. "Whats up
with this? we still have a week left." Puck said puting her contacts in.
Jessies voices came from the room. "Daddy said we should come back early
and make sure that you guys don't have a big wild party the last few
days. Puck snickered to herself. 'A' wild party would have been an
understatment. Well...actually, we werew thinking of having a banquet the
last night. with dancing and music." Jessie shrugged lightly and said
"You'll have to smooth it over with Dr. Quest." Puck snickerd and pulle
on a pair of jeans shorts and her faveorite black top. She,Bab and Jes
left the room arm in arm and laughing. Leaving the rest of the girls,
Oberon and Jessie in stunned aprehension. Puck rounded the corner and
stepped into the kitchen. She Loren and Allison had reareanged it so
everything was easier to get to and know when she turned the corner a
pair of unfamiallir faces were sitting at the table instead of Owen and
Josh argueing. Dr. Quest and race were having coffee and chatting as if
theyd never left. Dr. Quest was sitting in Oberon's spot and Race was
sitting in Puck's. Puck went over to race tapped him lightly and spoke
slowly. Jessie watched from beihind the stairwell. "Um, Mr.
Bannon-""-Race." He corrected her. "Okay, Um Race, youre sitting in my
spot." Race erupted into laughter and said "I'm sitting..in your spot?
Since when is this YOUR spot?Does it have your name on it?" Puck felt bad
about telling him but it had to be said . "In fact yes it does. Look on
one of the table legs. Owen and Josh worked themselves silly engraving
the inside of these table legs. This one says "Princess Puckie" about an
inch hgh." Race's laughs stopped when he examined the tiny lettering and
sure enough there was the name. neatly engraved and looking very like the
natural grain of the wood. "well I'll be damned." he said, and moved
down. Puck hated to kep unseating him but she said "That one's Saris and
the other one there is Raps and I think you 'll have to pull up extra
chairs. I'm very sory but thi is the way the Monarchy has worked." Dr.
Quest looked up and said "Monarchy? You mean you people have actually
kept youreselves from doing too much damage?" Puck sat down across from
Dr. Quest and began to explain. "well you see, when we first cam here
there was no order and maybe there was a little chaos. but, me and Jes
here formed a 'kingdom' of sorts named Getto land. Everyone has a place
and a title. Jes is the getto Queen, and I am Princess, and that guy
coming down the stairs now is the getto Guardian." She continued to name
names and places and duties and finally bringing up the getto Sword. "And
so you see, this is the way we have kept this place clean and kept
ourselves rom any harm. ANd now, in the last few days we have left we
were going to have a banquet. Oberon and I were going to cook and owen
was
going to dig some records out of the attic and Sari and Christa wer going
to do makeup and we wer going to be and speak the way our titles say we
do. And now, you come back two days early and now I feel that we can't do
it."  Dr. Quest folded his hands and kept his voice even. "I see no harm
in letting you do this one final thing. And even though you will be back
next year this seems alright in the sense that you all have made it this
far without trashing the whole ompound. Do we have to go for this or may
we join?" He said.  Puck sighed and smiled. "I'll tell everyone and thank
you so Much Dr. Quest. Which reminds me, if you are to be of the getto
Kingdom, we need to get you Race Jonny Jessie and Hadji all knighted."
She smiled and raced up the stairs and into her/Jessies room to spread
the word.

Jessie sat first in the row. Then came Oberonny Hadji Dr.Quest and Race.
All had to be knighted of they couldn't partake of the Getto Land
functions. One by one they were all christened and finally Sir Race
stepped down into the crowd of clapping Teens. Then Puck rose and held
the Sword aloft. "Getto announcements! okay we have three days left.
Tonight is the banquet promised, tomorrow shall be packing and the third
will be when we all leave. Music will be provided by Sir Owen and lady
Loren. Clothing and makeup will be done by Lady Christa and Lady Allison.
Your cooks will be Sir Oberon and I. If you wish to make a suggestion
please speak now." Dr. Quest was a amazed. this was a stable monarchy and
the two in charge were very efficient. Sari raised her hand. "Lady Sari?"
Puck acknowledged. "Umm do we have to speak in old tongue?" Puck smiled
and said "The rules for speaking and dress shall be, you must dress
accordingly to your rank. meaning ladi Jes and I and Sir Oberon shall
have
to dress more elaborately than Sir Owen or lady Leilani. And you MUST
speak old tongue." Then when no more hands raised she smiled and
announced the meeting over. Jonny said a few words to Jes and Puck and
Oberon broke off to start cooking. Christa and Allison went upstairs to
loot the girls bags to find make up and towels  and went to turn the
bathroom  into a studio. Jessie and Jonny stood amidst the pandemonium
wondering where to go or what to do. Jes came out of the bathroom and
tugged on Jessies arm. Josh came out od the den and pulled Jonny an
Hadji's arms. Race and Dr. quest were pulled into the kitchen and given
directions on what to wear and where to sit.  they had only four hours to
turn the compound into a keep of modern sorts. Owen dragged down the
oldest pieces by Bach and Mozart. And Christa and Allison transformed the
girls into highborn ladies in long flowing gowns with the exception of
Puck and Jes, whose dresses (Jes had insisted that no pictures be taken)
were bright and Pucks was black velvet and Jes' was gold. 
  By sundown that day The compounds walls were spotless and the banquet
was arranged. The champagne was cooling un buckets and glasses were set
in a fountain. Suddenly Puck came down the stairs and as Dr. Quest and
race watched she announced the people coming down. "I am lady Puckie and
I
will one or your hostess's tonight. Here is the Getto Guardian Sir
Oberon."
Oberon came down the stairs in a tuxedo. "Ladi Jes, our Queen." Jes
followed. "Sir Owen and Lady Loren. Lady Erin. Sir Hadji. Lady Leilani
and Sir Joshua. Lady Catherine. Lady Kat. Lady Christa. Lady Allison.
Lady Sari. Lady Raps. Lady Sandy and Sir Andy. And finally Lady Jessica
and Sir Jonathan. Thank you for attending our Getto ball." and the group
dispersed to enjoy themselves.
  Puck and Oberon were chatting and Jes was discussing something with Dr.
Quest. Raps and Sari were talking by the indoor fountain. and Jessie and
Jonny were kind of hanging out with themselves by the stairwell. "I don't
know jessie, I mean I feel like were intruding; in our own house." Jonny
confided over a glass of white wine. Jessie sipped her red wine carefully
before saying "That's your opinion. If you feel things should be
different then you make yourself heard and stop this." she said getting
annoyed a little with him. The music was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and
the air was rather dim and dark with the candles strewn about and the
dinner lights dimmed and the mellow sound of low voices and Erin's laugh.
  They were all seated in their proper seats with The Quest team added
in. Puck stood silently and the large table hushed. "As you know this is
one of our last nights together. We have shared this house lived together
in friendship for three months. Most of us have found more than a new
experience, you have found each other-" she looked at Oberon and Owen and
Loren and Bab and Josh. "But most of all you've made friendships, and
have made memories that will last you your whole lives. And speaking of
lives; We all knew him and some of us are still missing him and now that
star in our lives is guttered out. This toast is not only to the lives
that we have started but the one we have lost. To Matt Kilgore, may he
never be forgotten." And she raised her champagne. The rest of the table
with the exception of the quest team lifted their glasses and said "To
Matt Amen." And the feast started.
  As the night ended slowly and Sari Puck Oberon and Owen returned from
washing the dishes and putting things away, they all returned to their
bedrooms. Puck, Oberon, Erin, Jessie, and Bab were asleep. The other
inhabitants of the room were talking softly and falling asleep one by
one. the next day would involve moving everything back to where it was
and packing their bags..waiting for the next day flights home.

   As Puck,Oberon, Christa and allison gathered together everything they
owned, Jessie went up to her room. everything was neat and clean, just
the way she had left it. Jonny's room was the same.  everything was just
the same.  And as the bus took the four best friends to the airport Puck
looked back with tears in her eyes and sorrow in hr heart. AS the giant
house faded and the lighthouse disappeared from view. She huddled next to
Oberon and her friends. THe plane ride home was no different that a root
canal with no novocaine  and then as she and Oberon sid their good byes
she
broke down and tears rolled down her face. they promise to write and keep
in touch on-line and as Oberon drove home he too cried silently. Then
Puck
Allison and Christa boarded their car back home and when the long trip
was over she opened her mailbox. There sat an express mail letter
addressed to her from the quests. She opened the contents of the letter
and read it aloud. 
  "While on the way home from dropping you off There was
a thunderstorm and when Jonny was running with Jessie back to the front
door Jonny was struck by Lightning and killed. We are offering up the
Compound for sale. I hope you will find it a good investment.
