Memories

PART 4
	Every one was looking at Race, especially the woman. Keeping his face 
like stone, he walked out of the lighthouse. "No! Don't leave again! I-I 
just found you!" he heard the woman say. But he was already outside and 
not turning back. The woman tried to get off the table and walk after 
him, but the surge of pain form her leg made her collapse. Jonny, Jessie 
and Dr. Quest were there to catch her. Instantly knowing the situation, 
Jessie ran after her father. 
	At first, she could see him, but then she heard the garage door open 
and saw him pulling out his car. Geeze, he must have run. Setting her 
jaw she started to run. It only took a second the reach the car, but the 
trick was getting inside while it was moving. But for her, it wasn't 
hard. Her movements were fluid, flawless even. And she was in the car 
without hassle as it speed toward the public road. 
	Race didn't even take notice of her as he drove down the lane. "Dad, 
what was that?" Jessie asked. He didn't answer. "Dad. I know what went 
on, you've been dreaming about her ever since Mom left. She's the one 
you call out to in your dreams isn't she?" Again, he didn't answer. "I'm 
not a child anymore, you can talk to me." She said softly. Race let out 
a long sigh and pulled off the road. He looked over at his daughter. 
"Her name is Paige Waterson. I met her when I was 17, fresh outta high 
school. We fell in love and moved in together almost two months later. 
But I was already into airforce, training to be an operative. Four years 
later, I got into the CIA. We were gonna get married, but we didn't have 
the money, so we waited. But it was just like it was with your mom, I 
would have to go assignments and not tell her where I was going. {Sigh} 
One night I left and couldn't even tell her when to expect me back. But 
she never minded. I was gone for a month and a half. When I came back, 
she was gone. Never to be seen from again." 
	There was a long silence as Jessie took this all in. "So she is the one 
you dream about." Jessie said. Race nodded. "Until I found your mom I 
had them, then again after we split." "Dad, you have to go back. What if 
she disappears again?" Race knew she was right. After a few minutes, 
they turned around and headed home.
